Claims

Abstract

An apparatus and a method are provided for operating HARQ in a mobile communication system. The method includes receiving a number of HARQ processes of a semi-persistent resource allocation and semi-persistent resource allocation interval information for a first transmission; receiving data in the first transmission at a subframe based on the semi-persistent resource allocation interval information; calculating a HARQ process IDentifier (ID) using the number of HARQ processes of the semi-persistent resource allocation, the semi-persistent resource allocation interval information, and time information; receiving control information including the HARQ process ID on an L1 control channel; receiving data in a retransmission based on the control information including the HARQ process ID; combining the data received in the first transmission and the data received in the retransmission; and decoding the combined data.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A method for receiving data in a communication system, the method comprising:
 acquiring information for a number of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes of a semi-persistent resource allocation allocated to a user equipment (UE) and semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, the semi-persistent resource allocation periodicity information indicating an interval between periodic resources for an initial transmission; 
 identifying the semi-persistent resource allocation for a subframe based on the semi-persistent resource allocation interval information and time information; 
 acquiring a HARQ process identifier (ID) by using the number of HARQ processes of the semi-persistent resource allocation, the semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, and 
 the time information;g 
 acquiring soft buffer information a system frame number associated with a frame with a 10 ms duration; and 
 receiving a data of the initial transmission associated with the identified HARQ process ID based on the semi-persistent resource allocation for the subframe, the HARQ process ID, periodicity information and the soft buffer information system frame number associated with the frame with the 10 ms duration, 
 wherein the number of the HARQ processes corresponds to a quantity of the HARQ processes allocated to the UE for the semi-persistent resource allocation. 
 
     
     
       2. The method of  claim 1 , further comprising setting the acquired HARQ process ID to a HARQ process ID for the subframe. 
     
     
       3. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the time information includes a System Frame Number (SFN) and a sub-frame number. 
     
     
       4. The method of  claim 1 , wherein the HARQ process ID is acquired identified based on:
   HARQ process ID=s modulo n, 
 where s is an integer derived from t/i, wherein t represents the time information, i represents a modulo function a modulo b, where a is a value based on the system frame number and the semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, and n represents b is the number of the HARQ processes of the semi-persistent resource allocation, and 
 wherein in case that the number of the HARQ processes is n, HARQ processes 0 to n-1 are assigned to the UE. 
 
     
     
       5. A method for transmitting data in a communication system, the method comprising:
 transmitting information representative of a number of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes of a semi-persistent resource allocation allocated to a user equipment (UE) and semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, the semi-persistent resource allocation periodicity information indicating an interval between periodic allocated resources for an initial transmission; 
 allocating the semi-persistent resource for a subframe based on the semi-persistent resource allocation interval information and time information; 
 acquiringidentifying a HARQ process identifier (ID) by using the number of HARQ processes of the semi-persistent resource allocation, the semi-persistent resource allocation intervalperiodicity information, and the time information; 
 transmitting soft buffer information a system frame number associated with a frame with a 10 ms duration; and 
 transmitting a data of the initial transmission associated with the identified HARQ process ID based on the semi-persistent resource allocation for the subframe, the HARQ process ID, periodicity information and the soft buffer informationsystem frame number associated with the frame with the 10 ms duration, 
 wherein the number of the HARQ processes corresponds to a quantity of the HARQ processes allocated to the UE for the semi-persistent resource allocation. 
 
     
     
       6. The method of  claim 5 , further comprising setting the acquired HARQ process ID to a HARQ process ID for the subframe. 
     
     
       7. The method of  claim 5 , wherein the time information includes a System Frame Number (SFN) and a sub-frame number. 
     
     
       8. The method of  claim 5 , wherein the HARQ process ID is acquired identified based on:
   HARQ process ID=s modulo n,

       9. An apparatus A user equipment (UE) for receiving data in a communication system, the apparatus UE comprising:
 a controller configured to
 acquire information for a number of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes of a semi-persistent resource allocation allocated to the UE and semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, the semi-persistent resource allocation periodicity information indicating an interval between periodic allocated resources for an initial transmission, and  
 identify the semi-persistent resource allocation for a subframe based on the semi-persistent resource allocation interval information and time information, 
 acquire a HARQ process identifier (ID) by using the number of HARQ processes of the semi-persistent resource allocation, the semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, and the time information a system frame number associated with a frame with a 10 ms duration; and 
 
 a receiver configured to receive data of the initial transmission associated with the identified HARQ process ID based on the semi-persistent resource allocation for the subframe, the HARQ process ID, periodicity information and the soft buffer information system frame number associated with the frame with the 10 ms duration, 
 wherein the number of the HARQ processes corresponds to a quantity of the HARQ processes allocated to the UE for the semi-persistent resource allocation. 
 
     
     
       10. The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the controller is further configured to set the acquired HARQ process ID to a HARQ process ID for the subframe. 
     
     
       11. The apparatus of  claim 9 , wherein the time information includes a System Frame Number (SFN) and a sub-frame number. 
     
     
       12. The apparatus UE of  claim 9 , wherein the HARQ process ID is acquired identified based on:
   HARQ process ID=s modulo n, 
 wherein s is an integer derived from t/i, t represents the time information, i represents a modulo function a modulo b, where a is a value based on the system frame number and the periodicity associated with the semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, and n represents b is the number of HARQ processes of the semi-persistent resource allocation, and 
 wherein in case that the number of the HARQ processes is n, HARQ processes 0 to n-1 are assigned to the UE. 
 
     
     
       13. An apparatus A base station for transmitting data in a communication system, the apparatus  base station comprising:
 a transmitter configured to transmit information representative of a number of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes of a semi-persistent resource allocation allocated to a user equipment (UE) and semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, transmit soft buffer information the semi-persistent resource allocation interval information indicating an interval between periodic allocated resources for an initial transmission, and transmit data of the initial transmission associated with a HARQ process identification (ID) based on the semi-persistent resource allocation for a subframe, the HARQ process ID, periodicity information and the soft buffer information a system frame number associated with a frame with a 10 ms duration; and 
 a controller configured to allocate the semi-persistent resource for the subframe based on the semi-persistent resource allocation interval information and time information, and acquire a identify the HARQ process identifier (ID) ID by using the number of HARQ processes of the semi-persistent resource allocation, the semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, and the time information system frame number associated with the frame with the 10 ms duration, 
 wherein the number of the HARQ processes corresponds to a quantity of the HARQ processes allocated to the UE for the semi-persistent resource allocation. 
 
     
     
       14. The apparatus of  claim 13 , wherein the controller is further configured to set the acquired HARQ process ID to a HARQ process ID for the subframe. 
     
     
       15. The apparatus of  claim 13 , wherein the time information includes a System Frame Number (SFN) and a sub-frame number. 
     
     
       16. The apparatus base station of  claim 13 , wherein the HARQ process ID is acquired  identified based on:
   HARQ process ID=s modulo n, 
 wherein s is an integer derived from t/i, t represents the time information, i represents a modulo function a modulo b, where a is a value based on the system frame number and the semi-persistent resource allocation interval periodicity information, and n represents b is the number of the HARQ processes of the semi-persistent resource allocation, and 
 wherein in case that the number of the HARQ processes is n, HARQ processes 0 to n-1 are assigned to the UE. 
 
     
     
       17. The base station of claim 13, wherein resource information for the semi-persistent resource allocation is acquired at a timing of data transmission.  
     
     
       18. The base station of claim 17, wherein information for the timing of the data transmission is further used for the identification of the HARQ process ID.  
     
     
       19. The base station of claim 13, wherein the controller is further configured to identify a size of a soft buffer for the data.  
     
     
       20. The method of claim 1, wherein resource information for the semi-persistent resource allocation is acquired at a timing of data reception.  
     
     
       21. The method of claim 20, wherein information for the timing of the data reception is further used for the identification of the HARQ process ID.  
     
     
       22. The method of claim 1, further comprising identifying a size of a soft buffer for the data.  
     
     
       23. The method of claim 5, wherein resource information for the semi-persistent resource allocation is acquired at a timing of data transmission.  
     
     
       24. The method of claim 23, wherein information for the timing of the data transmission is further used for the identification of the HARQ process ID.  
     
     
       25. The method of claim 5, further comprising identifying a size of a soft buffer for the data.  
     
     
       26. The UE of claim 9, wherein resource information for the semi-persistent resource allocation is acquired at a timing of data reception.  
     
     
       27. The UE of claim 26, wherein information for the timing of the data reception is further used for the identification of the HARQ process ID.  
     
     
       28. The UE of claim 9, wherein the controller is further configured to identify a size of a soft buffer for the data.  
     
     
       29. A method for communication by a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:
 receiving data on a periodic allocated resource according to persistent resource allocation periodicity information; and   identifying a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier (ID) using at least (a) a number of HARQ processes of a persistent resource allocation, (b) the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and (c) a system frame number (SFN) corresponding to a frame with a 10 ms duration,   wherein the persistent resource allocation periodicity information and the number of the HARQ processes of the persistent resource allocation are assigned to the UE, the persistent resource allocation periodicity information indicates an interval between periodic allocated resources for an initial transmission, and the number of the HARQ processes corresponds to a quantity of the HARQ processes allocated to the UE for the persistent resource allocation, and   wherein a HARQ process is associated with the identified HARQ process ID.    
     
     
       30. The method of claim 29, further comprising directing the received data to the associated HARQ process,
 wherein the received data according to the persistent resource allocation periodicity information is associated with the initial transmission only.    
     
     
       31. The method of claim 29, wherein in case that the number of the HARQ processes is n, HARQ processes 0 to n-1 are assigned to the UE.  
     
     
       32. The method of claim 29, wherein the HARQ process ID is identified based on:
   HARQ process ID=s modulo n,   where s is an integer derived from t/i, wherein t represents time information based on the SFN, i represents the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and n represents the number of the HARQ processes of the persistent resource allocation.    
     
     
       33. The method of claim 29, further comprising:
 in case that there is no L1/L2 control information, receiving new data based on the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and directing the received new data to a HARQ process corresponding to an identified HARQ process ID; and   in case that there is a reception of the L1/L2 control information, receiving the data according to the L1/L2 control information, and directing the received data to a HARQ process corresponding to the L1/L2 control information.    
     
     
       34. A method for communication by a base station in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:
 transmitting data on a periodic allocated resource associated with persistent resource allocation periodicity information; and   identifying a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier (ID) using at least (a) a number of HARQ processes of a persistent resource allocation, (b) the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and (c) a system frame number (SFN) corresponding to a frame with a 10 ms duration,   wherein the persistent resource allocation periodicity information indicates an interval between periodic allocated resources for an initial transmission, and the number of the HARQ processes corresponds to a quantity of the HARQ processes allocated to a user equipment (UE) for the persistent resource allocation, and   wherein a HARQ process is associated with the identified HARQ process ID.    
     
     
       35. The method of claim 34, further comprising directing the transmitted data to the associated HARQ process,
 wherein the transmitted data according to the persistent resource allocation periodicity information is associated with the initial transmission only.    
     
     
       36. The method of claim 34, wherein in case that the number of the HARQ processes is n, HARQ processes 0 to n-1 are assigned to the UE.  
     
     
       37. The method of claim 34, wherein the HARQ process ID is identified based on:
   HARQ process ID=s modulo n,   where s is an integer derived from t/i, wherein t represents time information based on the SFN, i represents the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and n represents the number of the HARQ processes of the persistent resource allocation.    
     
     
       38. The method of claim 34, further comprising:
 determining whether L1/L2 control information for the data to be transmitted or not; and   in case that the L1/L2 control information is to he transmitted, setting the HARQ process ID in the L1/L2 control information and transmitting the L1/L2 control information.    
     
     
       39. A UE for a communication system, the UE comprising:
 a transceiver, and   a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
 receive data on a periodic allocated resource according to persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and 
 identify a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier (ID) using at least (a) a number of HARQ processes of a persistent resource allocation, (b) the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and (c) a system frame number (SFN) corresponding to a frame with a 10 ms duration, 
   wherein the persistent resource allocation periodicity information and the number of HARQ processes of the persistent resource allocation are assigned to the UE, the persistent resource allocation periodicity information indicates an interval between periodic allocated resources for an initial transmission, and the number of the HARQ processes corresponds to a quantity of the HARQ processes allocated to the UE for the persistent resource allocation, and   wherein a HARQ process is associated with the identified HARQ process ID.    
     
     
       40. The UE of claim 39, wherein the controller is further configured to direct the received data to the associated HARQ process, and
 wherein the received data according to the persistent resource allocation periodicity information is associated with the initial transmission only.    
     
     
       41. The UE of claim 39, wherein in case that the number of the HARQ processes is n, HARQ processes 0 to n-1 are assigned to the UE.  
     
     
       42. The UE of claim 39, wherein the HARQ process ID is identified based on:
   HARQ process ID=s modulo n,   where s is an integer derived from t/i, wherein t represents time information based on the SFN, i represents the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and n represents the number of the HARQ processes of the persistent resource allocation.    
     
     
       43. The L UE of claim 39, wherein the controller is further configured to:
 in case that there is no L1/L2 control information, receive new data based on the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and direct the received new data to a HARQ process corresponding to an identified HARQ process ID, and   in case that there is a reception of the L1/L2 control information, receive the data according to the L1/L2 control information, and direct the received data to a HARQ process corresponding to the L1/L2 control information.    
     
     
       44. A base station for a mobile communication system, the base station comprising:
 a transceiver, and   a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
 transmit data on a periodic allocated resource associated with persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and 
 identify a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier (ID) using at least (a) a number of HARQ processes of a persistent resource allocation, (b) the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and (c) a system frame number (SFN) corresponding to an index of a frame with a 10 ms duration, 
   wherein the persistent resource allocation periodicity information indicates an interval between periodic allocated resources for an initial transmission, and the number of the HARQ, processes corresponds to a quantity of the HARQ processes allocated to a user equipment (UE) for the persistent resource allocation, and   wherein a HARQ process is associated with the identified HARQ process ID.    
     
     
       45. The base station of claim 44, wherein the controller is further configured to direct the transmitted data to the associated HARQ process, and p1 wherein the transmitted data according to the persistent resource allocation periodicity information is associated with the initial transmission only.  
     
     
       46. The base station of claim 44, wherein in case that the number of the HARQ processes is n, HARQ processes 0 to n-1 are assigned to the UE.  
     
     
       47. The base station of claim 44, wherein the HARQ process ID is identified based on:
   HARQ process ID=s modulo n,   where s is an integer derived from t/i, wherein t represents time information based on the SFN, i represents the persistent resource allocation periodicity information, and n represents the number of the HARQ processes of the persistent resource allocation.    
     
     
       48. The base station of claim 44, wherein the controller is further configured to:
 determine whether L1/L2 control information for the data to be transmitted or not, and   in case that the L1/L2 control information is to he transmitted, set the HARQ process ID in the L1/L2 control information and transmit the L1/L2 control information.
