Abstract

A method, a base station, a User Equipment (UE) and a system for sending and receiving Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) signaling are disclosed. A method includes determining locations of a first search space and a second search space of a User Equipment (UE). A method also includes sending PDCCH signaling with no Carrier Indication Field (CIF) to the UE in a physically overlapped region between the first search space and the second search space if the physically overlapped region exists and a length of the PDCCH signaling with no CIF in the first search space is equal to a length of PDCCH signaling with the CIF in the second search space.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium having stored thereon, thereon programming for execution by a machine, the programming including instructions to:
 determine locations of a first search space and a second search space, wherein each of the first search space and the second search space comprises comprise a plurality of control channel elements (CCEs), wherein a physically overlapped region exists between the first search space and the second search space, and wherein the a PDCCH signaling is made up of comprises at least one CCE of the first search space or of the second search space; 
 determine whether the first search space and the second search space overlap in at least one of the plurality of CCEs, and determine whether a length of the a first PDCCH signaling excluding without  a carrier indication field (CIF) in the first search space is equal to a length of the a second PDCCH signaling including the with a CIF in the second search space; and 
 when when the first search space and the second search space overlap in the at least one of the plurality of CCEs andin response to determining that the length of the first PDCCH signaling excluding the CIF in the first search space is equal to the length of the second PDCCH signaling including the CIF in the second search space, and based on the physically overlapped region existing between the first search space and the second search space, transmit, in the at least one of the plurality of CCEs over which the first search space and overlaps the second search space, physically overlapped region, the first PDCCH signaling excluding without the CIF to the UE to a user equipment (UE). 
 
     
     
       2. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium according to  claim 1 , wherein the first search space is a common search space (CSS), and the second search space is a UE-specific search space (UESS). 
     
     
       3. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium according to  claim 2 , wherein a CCE level of the PDCCH signaling in the CSS is 4 or 8, and wherein a CCE level of the PDCCH signaling in the UESS is 4 or 8. 
     
     
       4. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium according to  claim 1 , wherein the first search space comprises a first UE-specific search space (UESS) that is used to schedule a first component carrier (CC) of the UE, and wherein the second search space comprises a second UESS that is used to schedule a second CC of the UE. 
     
     
       5. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium according to  claim 1 , wherein the programming further includes instructions todetermine whether the first search space and the second search space overlap in the at least one of the plurality of CCEs includes instructions to:;
 determine whether there is at least one CCE in the plurality of CCEs whose index in the first search space is the same as an index in the second search space, wherein the at least one CCE whose index in the first search space is the same as the index in the second search space comprises the at least one of the plurality of CCEs over which the first search space overlaps the second search space. 
 
     
     
       6. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium according to  claim 1 , wherein the programming further includes instructions to:
 cease transmitting the first PDCCH signalingincluding the CIF in the at least one of the plurality of CCEs over which the first search space overlaps the second search space. 
 
     
     
       7. A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium having stored thereon, thereon programming for execution by a machine, the programming including instructions to:
 receive PDCCH a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) signaling from a base station, wherein the PDCCH signaling is made up of comprises at least one control channel element (CCE) of a first search space or a second search space, wherein a physically overlapped region exists between the first search space and the second search space, and wherein each of the first search space and the second search space comprise a plurality of CCEs; and 
 when the first search space and the second search space overlap in at least one of the plurality of CCEs and whenin response to determining that a length of thea first PDCCH signaling excluding a carrier indication field (CIF) in the first search space is equal to a length of a second PDCCH signaling including thea CIF in the second search space and based on the physically overlapped region existing between the first search space and the second search space, parse the received PDCCH signaling excluding the CIF that is positioned within the at least one of the plurality of CCEs over which the first search space overlaps the second search space. 
 
     
     
       8. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium according to  claim 7 , wherein the first search space is a common search space (CSS), and the second search space is a UE-specific search space (UESS). 
     
     
       9. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium according to  claim 7 , wherein the programming further includes instructions to:
 determine locations of the first search space and second search space; and 
 determine whether the first search space and the second search space overlap in the at least one of the plurality of CCEs. 
 
     
     
       10. The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium according to  claim 9 , wherein the instructions to determine whether the first search space and the second search space overlap in the at least one of the plurality of CCEs include instructions to:
 determine whether there is at least one CCE in the plurality of CCEs whose index in the first search space is the same as the index in the second search space, wherein the at least one CCE whose index in the first search space is the same as the index in the second search space is the at least one of the plurality of CCEs over which the first search space overlaps the second search space. 
 
     
     
       11. A method for sending Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) signaling, comprising:
 determining locations of a first search space and a second search space, wherein each of the first search space and the second search space comprises a plurality of control channel elements (CCEs), wherein a physically overlapped region exists between the first search space and the second search space, and wherein a PDCCH signaling comprises at least one CCE of the first search space or of the second search space;   determining whether a length of a first PDCCH signaling without a carrier indication field (CIF) in the first search space is equal to a length of a second PDCCH signaling with a CIF in the second search space; and   in response to determining that the length of the first PDCCH signaling is equal to the length of the second PDCCH signaling, transmitting, in the physically overlapped region, the second PDCCH signaling with the CIF and an additional bit to a user equipment (UE), wherein the additional bit is appended to the second PDCCH signaling, wherein the length of second PDCCH signaling with the CIF and the additional bit is longer than the length of the first PDCCH signaling without the CIF.   
     
     
       12. The method according to claim 11, wherein the first search space is a common search space (CSS) or a UE-specific search space (UESS), and the second search space is a UE-specific search space (UESS). 
     
     
       13. The method according to claim 12, wherein a CCE level of the PDCCH signaling in the CSS is 4 or 8, and wherein a CCE level of the PDCCH signaling in the UESS is 4 or 8. 
     
     
       14. The method according to claim 11, wherein the physically overlapped region comprises at least one CCE in the plurality of CCEs whose index in the first search space is the same as an index in the second search space. 
     
     
       15. The method according to claim 11, wherein the additional bit is a padding bit which is 0. 
     
     
       16. A method for receiving Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) signaling, comprising:
 receiving a second PDCCH signaling in a physically overlapped region between a first search space and a second search space; and   parsing the PDCCH signaling according to a set rule, wherein the second PDCCH signaling includes a carrier indication field (CIF) and an additional bit, wherein the additional bit is appended to the second PDCCH signaling including the CIF in response to a length of a first PDCCH signaling without a CIF in the first search space of a user equipment (UE) being equal to a length of the second PDCCH signaling with the CIF and without the additional bit in the second search space of the UE, and wherein the length of second PDCCH signaling with the CIF and the additional bit is longer than the length of the first PDCCH signaling without the CIF.   
     
     
       17. The method according to claim 16, wherein the first search space is a common search space (CSS) or a UE-specific search space (UESS), and the second search space is a UE-specific search space (UESS). 
     
     
       18. The method according to claim 17, wherein a CCE level of the PDCCH signaling in the CSS is 4 or 8, and wherein a CCE level of a given PDCCH signaling in the UESS is 4 or 8. 
     
     
       19. The method according to claim 16, wherein the physically overlapped region comprising at least one CCE whose index in the first search space is the same as an index in the second search space. 
     
     
       20. The method according to claim 16, wherein the additional bit is a padding bit which is 0. 
     
     
       21. A communication device, which is a base station or an apparatus included in the base station, the communication device comprising:
 a process; and   a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium coupled to the processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the processor, the programming instructions instruct the processor to:
 determine locations of a first search space and a second search space, wherein each of the first search space and the second search space comprises a plurality of control channel elements (CCEs), wherein a physically overlapped region exists between the first search space and the second search space, and wherein a PDCCH signaling comprises at least one CCE of the first search space or of the second search space; 
 determine whether a length of a first PDCCH signaling without a carrier indication field (CIF) in the first search space is equal to a length of a second PDCCH signaling with a CIF in the second search space; and 
 in response to determining that the length of the first PDCCH signaling is equal to the length of the second PDCCH signaling, transmit, in the physically overlapped region, the second PDCCH signaling with the CIF and an additional bit to a user equipment (UE), wherein the additional bit is appended to the second PDCCH signaling, wherein the length of second PDCCH signaling with the CIF and the additional bit is longer than the length of the first PDCCH signaling without the CIF. 
   
     
     
       22. The communication device according to claim 21, wherein the first search space is a common search space (CSS) or a UE-specific search space (UESS), and the second search space is a UE-specific search space (UESS). 
     
     
       23. The communication device according to claim 22, wherein a CCE level of a given PDCCH signaling in the CSS is 4 or 8, and wherein a CCE level of a given PDCCH signaling in the UESS is 4 or 8. 
     
     
       24. The communication device according to claim 21, wherein the physically overlapped region comprises at least one CCE in the plurality of CCEs whose index in the first search space is the same as an index in the second search space. 
     
     
       25. The communication device according to claim 21, wherein the additional bit is a padding bit which is 0. 
     
     
       26. A communication device, which is a user equipment (UE) or an apparatus included in the UE, the communication device comprising:
 a processor; and   a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium coupled to the processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the processor, the programming instructions instruct the processor to:
 receive a second Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) signaling in a physically overlapped region between a first search space and a second search space; and 
 parse the second PDCCH signaling according to a set rule, wherein the second PDCCH signaling includes a carrier indication field (CIF) and an additional bit, wherein the additional bit is appended to the second PDCCH signaling including the CIF in response to a length of a first PDCCH signaling without a CIF in the first search space of the UE being equal to a length of the second PDCCH signaling with the CIF and without the additional bit in the second search space of the UE, and wherein the length of second PDCCH signaling with the CIF and the additional bit is longer than the length of the first PDCCH signaling without the CIF. 
   
     
     
       27. The communication device according to claim 26, wherein the first search space is a common search space (CSS) or a UE-specific search space (UESS), and the second search space is a UE-specific search space (UESS). 
     
     
       28. The communication device according to claim 27, wherein a CCE level of a given PDCCH signaling in the CSS is 4 or 8, and wherein a CCE level of the PDCCH signaling in the UESS is 4 or 8. 
     
     
       29. The communication device according to claim 26, wherein the physically overlapped region comprising at least one CCE whose index in the first search space is the same as an index in the second search space. 
     
     
       30. The communication device according to claim 26, wherein the additional bit is a padding bit which is 0.
