Abstract
A digital broadcasting system and a data processing method are disclosed. A time zone identifier is inserted into program table information of a broadcasting signal and the broadcasting signal is transmitted/received. The digital broadcasting system can calculate a local time of a region, in which the digital broadcasting system is located, using the time zone identifier. Accordingly, although the position of the digital broadcasting system is changed, it is possible to process the broadcasting signal related to the local time without an error.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1. A method of transmitting a broadcast signal in a transmitter, the method comprising:
pre-processing, by a preprocessor, first service data comprising audio or video data for a mobile service, wherein the first service data is capable of being transmitted via a same channel as second service data comprising audio or video data for a main service, and wherein pre-processing the first service data comprises:
randomizing the first service data,
generating a Reed-Solomon (RS) frame through which an RS frame payload including the randomized first service data is RS—Cyclic Redundancy Check (RS-CRC) encoded, wherein the RS frame is separated divided into a plurality of portions, wherein a size of the RS frame payload is 187 by N bytes, and wherein N is an integer corresponding to a length of each row of the RS frame payload,
forming data groups of the first service data, wherein each data group includes signaling information, a plurality of known data sequences that have pre-determined values, one of the plurality of portions, second service data place holders, RS parity data place holders, and MPEG header data place holders, and wherein the signaling information includes data group information indicating a number of related to the data groups to be transmitted during a transmission frame, and
removing the second service data place holders and the RS parity data place holders and replacing the MPEG header data place holders with MPEG header data to output first service data packets;
multiplexing, by a multiplexer, the first service data packets and second service data packets, wherein the second service data packets include the second service data;
randomizing, by a randomizer, the multiplexed second service data packets and the MPEG header data in the multiplexed first service data packets; and
transmitting, by a transmission unit, a the broadcast signal that includes:
the first service data packets including the randomized MPEG header data, and
the randomized second service data packets,
wherein a parade of the formed data groups is transmitted during slots in the broadcast signal, the slots being basic time periods for multiplexing the first service data and the second service data.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first service data is mobile service data for display in mobile receivers and the second service data is main service data for display in legacy receivers.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the signaling information further includes an RS code mode of the first service data.
4. A transmitter comprising:
a pre-processor for pre-processing first service data comprising audio or video data for a mobile service, the first service data is capable of being transmitted via a same channel as second service data comprising audio or video data for a main service, wherein pre-processing the first service data comprises:
randomizing the first service data,
generating a Reed-Solomon (RS) frame through which an RS frame payload including the randomized first service data is RS—Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) encoded, wherein the RS frame is separated to a plurality of portions, wherein a size of the RS frame payload is 187 by N bytes, and wherein N is an integer corresponding to a length of each row of the RS frame payload,
forming data groups of the first service data, wherein each data group includes signaling information, a plurality of known data sequences that have pre-determined values, one of the plurality of portions, second service data place holders, RS parity data place holders, and MPEG header data place holders, and wherein the signaling information includes information indicating a number of the data groups to be transmitted during a transmission frame, and
removing the second service data place holders and the RS parity data place holders and replacing the MPEG header data place holders with MPEG header data to output first service data packets;
a multiplexer for multiplexing the first service data packets and second service data packets, wherein the second service data packets include the second service data; a randomizer for randomizing the multiplexed second service data packets and the MPEG header data in the multiplexed first service data packets; and a transmission unit for transmitting a broadcast signal including:
the first service data packets including the randomized MPEG header data, and
the randomized second service data packets,
wherein a parade of the formed data groups is transmitted during slots in the broadcast signal, the slots being basic time periods for multiplexing the first service data and the second service data.
5. The transmitter of claim 4 , wherein the first service data is mobile service data for display in mobile receivers and the second service data is main service data for display in legacy receivers.
6. The transmitter of claim 4 , wherein the signaling information further includes an RS code mode of the first service data.
7. A method of processing broadcast data in a transmitter, the method comprising:
randomizing broadcast service data for a service and service signaling information for the service; first encoding the randomized broadcast service data and service signaling information to add parity data; second encoding the first-encoded broadcast service data and service signaling information at a first code rate; block interleaving the second-encoded broadcast service data and service signaling information; convolutional interleaving the block-interleaved broadcast service data and service signaling information; encoding transmission parameter data for signaling the broadcast service data at a second code rate, wherein the transmission parameter data includes information to identify a number of the parity data; and transmitting a broadcast signal including a frame that includes the convolutional interleaved broadcast service data and service signaling information, and the encoded transmission parameter data, wherein the frame further includes known data, wherein the known data are used for channel estimation in a receiver and are regularly spaced in the frame, and wherein the transmission parameter data further includes information on the known data, wherein the service signaling information includes system time information and wherein the system time information includes first offset information indicating an offset between a local time zone of an originating broadcast station and Universal Time Coordinated (UTC), and status information indicating whether a Daylight Saving Time is in effect.
