Abstract

An acrylamide polymer comprising acrylamide and a sufficient amount of cinnamic acid to substantially reduce the viscosity of the acrylamide polymer and solution.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. An acrylamide polymer comprising acrylamide and a sufficient amount of cinnamic acid .Iadd.material selected from the group consisting of cinnamic acids, cinnamyl alcohols, salts of cinnamic acids, and cinnamyl amines .Iaddend.to substantially reduce the viscosity of the acrylamide polymer in solution.

       2. The acrylamide polymer of claim 1 wherein said cinnamic acid .Iadd.material .Iaddend.is below about 10 weight percent of the total weight of the acrylamide polymer.

       3. The acrylamide polymer of claim 1 wherein said cinnamic acid .Iadd.material .Iaddend.is below about 5 weight percent of the total weight of said acrylamide polymer.

       4. The acrylamide polymer of claim 1 wherein said cinnamic acid .Iadd.material .Iaddend.is between about 0.1 and about 2 weight percent of total weight of said acrylamide polymer.

       5. The acrylamide polymer of claim 1 wherein said acrylamide is in an aqueous solution.

       6. The acrylamide polymer of claim 5 wherein said acrylamide ranges between about 10 and 40 percent of the solution.

       7. The acrylamide polymer of claim 6 wherein said cinnamic acid .Iadd.material .Iaddend.ranges between 0.5 and 10 weight percent of the acrylamide polymer.

       8. The acrylamide polymer of claim 6 wherein said cinnamic acid .Iadd.material .Iaddend.ranges between about 0.1 and about 2 weight percent of the acrylamide polymer.

       9. An acrylamide polymer solution comprising acrylamide and a sufficient amount of cinnamic acid .Iadd.material selected from the group consisting of cinnamic acids, cinnamyl alcohols, salts of cinnamic acids, and cinnamyl amines .Iaddend.to substantially reduce the viscosity of said solution. .Iadd.10. The acrylamide polymer of claim 2 wherein said cinnamic acid material is a salt of cinnamic acid. .Iaddend. .Iadd.11. The acrylamide polymer of claim 10 wherein said salt of cinnamic acid is sodium cinnamate. .Iaddend.
