4-Trifluoromethyl-2,6-dinitroanilines

Abstract

This invention relates to a group of novel substituent anilines, useful in eliminating germinating and seedling weed grasses and selected broadleaf weeds.

I claim: 
     
       1. A compound represented by the following formula: ##STR2## wherein R 3  is .[.C 2  -C 4  alkyl, allyl, or hydrogen.]. .Iadd.ethyl, n-propyl, n-butyl, or allyl.Iaddend.; R 4  is methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, n-butyl, .[.iso-butyl.]. or allyl .[.when R 3  is either C 2  -C 4  alkyl or allyl; and R 4  is 2-pentyl or 3-pentyl when R 3  is hydrogen.].; the sum of the carbon atoms in the groups represented by R 3  and R 4  being greater than 3.
