Abstract

Compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a trihalomethyl group, an alkyl group, or a cyano group, and Y is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a trihalomethyl group, and compositions containing these compounds exhibit herbicidal activity.

A compound of the formula ##STR4## wherein X is a .[.hydrogen atom,.]. a trifluoromethyl group, a (C 1  -C 4 ) alkyl group, or a cyano group, and Y is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a trifluoromethyl group.[., provided that when X is a hydrogen atom, Y is other than a halogen atom.]..
