Olefinic polymers stabilized with thioacyl trivalent phosphorus compounds

Abstract

Compounds are prepared having one of the formulae ##STR1## where n is an integer of 1, 2 or 3 and R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are hydrocarbyl or halohydrocarbyl. The compounds are useful as stabilizers for olefin polymers.

1.  A composition comprising a member of the group consisting of solid monolefin polymers containing a stabilizingly effective amount of a compound having one of the formulae: ##STR6## wherein n is an integer and R 1 , R 2  and R 3  are hydrocarbyl or halohydrocarbyl.[...]. .Iadd.with the proviso that when the formula is (a) R 2  is alkyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl. .Iaddend.
