7-Pyridinium methyl carboxyl derivatives of 7-amino-cephalosporanic acid

Abstract

7-Aminopyridiniumacetylamino-cephalosporanic acids and derivatives thereof. The new compounds have antibacterial properties.

A compound of Formula I ##STR4##in which R 2  is hydrogen, hydroxyl, lower alkanoyloxy, halogeno-lower alkanoyloxy or monocyclic carbocyclic arylcarbonyloxy or -thiocarbonyloxy, monocyclic carbocyclic arylcarbonylmercapto or -thiocarbonylmercapto, unsubstituted or substituted by lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylmercapto, halogen or nitro, or is an unsubstituted or N-lower alkyl, lower alkoxy-lower alkyl or halogeno-lower alkyl-substituted carbamoyloxy group or thiocarbamoylmercapto group, and R 3  represents lower
