Abstract
A new and distinct Leucophyllum frutescens X zygophyllum plant named ‘Laredo’ is characterized as a many branched, rounded shrub reaching a size of 5 feet tall×6 feet wide by age 5, with silvery leaves and a generally cloudlike appearance, winterfast leaves, pleasantly fragrant flowers colored N82B (strong purple) that last about 3 days and do not fade with age, as well as possessing excellent resistance to damping off diseases. ‘Laredo’ is hardy to USDA zone 7B/8A.
