Abstract

A heating system can include certain pressure sensitive features. These features can be configured to change from a first position to a second position based on a pressure of a fuel flowing into the feature. These features can include, fuel selector valves, pressure regulators, burner nozzles, and oxygen depletion sensor nozzles, among other features.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A dual fuel heating assembly comprising:
 a housing comprising at least one inlet, at least one first outlet, and at least one second outlet, the housing configured to direct a fuel flow therethrough and defining:
 a first flow path from a fuel line through the at least one inlet and the at least one first outlet; and
 a second flow path from the fuel line through the at least one inlet and the at least one second outlet;

 a single pressure selector valve configured to selectively block the fuel flow at the single pressure selector valve depending on a pressure of the fuel flow, the single pressure selector valve comprising a single movable valve body positioned at least partially within the second flow path;
 wherein in a first position of the single movable valve body, the second flow path is closed by the single movable valve body, and in a second position the single movable valve body allows the fuel flow through the second flow path, the first flow path remaining open independent of the position of the single movable valve body when fuel flow is flowing to either one of, or both of the at least one first outlet and the at least one second outlet;
 wherein the single movable valve body is configured such that movement between the first and second positions is controlled by the pressure of the fuel flow flowing to the single pressure selector valve; and
 a control valve having a first position that allows a first amount of the fuel flow through a control valve body and a second position that allows a second amount of the fuel flow through the control valve body, the control valve positioned in the second flow path downstream from the single pressure selector valve.

       2. The dual fuel heating assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a biasing member configured to regulate the position of the single movable valve body in response to the pressure of the fuel flow flowing through the housing.

       3. The dual fuel heating assembly of claim 1 , wherein the control valve is positioned in both the first flow path and the second flow path.

       4. The dual fuel heating assembly of claim 1 , wherein the heating assembly is part of a water heater, a fireplace, a gas oven, a BBQ, or a gas dryer.

       5. The dual fuel heating assembly of claim 1 , further comprising an ignitor and a thermocouple, wherein the dual fuel heating assembly is an oxygen depletion sensor.

       6. The dual fuel heating system of claim 1 , further comprising one or more pressure regulators fluidly coupled to the housing and configured to direct fuel to the at least one inlet through the fuel line.

       7. The dual heating system of claim 1 , further comprising a solenoid valve having a solenoid valve body positioned in the housing downstream of the at least one inlet and within the first and second flow paths.

       8. The dual fuel heating system of claim 1 , further comprising a nozzle comprising a first orifice and a second orifice adjacent the first orifice, the nozzle coupled to the housing such that at the least one first outlet directs the fuel flow to the first orifice and the at least one second outlet directs fuel flow to the second orifice.

       9. The dual fuel heating system of claim 8 , wherein the nozzle comprises a first nozzle body threadedly coupled to the housing and a second nozzle body threadedly coupled to the housing adjacent the first nozzle body, the at least one first outlet directs the fuel flow to the first orifice in the first nozzle body and the at least one second outlet directs the fuel flow to the second orifice in the second nozzle body.
