Abstract

An photographing optical lens assembly includes, in order from an object side to an image side, a first lens element with refractive power including a convex object-side surface, a second lens element with positive refractive power including a convex image-side surface, a third lens element with positive refractive power including a concave object-side surface and a convex image-side surface, a fourth lens element with negative refractive power, and a fifth lens element with positive refractive power including a convex object-side surface, a concave image-side surface and at least one inflection point. The surfaces of the fifth lens element are aspheric. By adjusting the photographing optical lens assembly, the total length of the photographing optical lens assembly is reduced, the aberration is corrected, and the image quality is improved.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A photographing optical lens assembly comprising, in order from an object side to an image side:
 a first lens element with refractive power comprising a convex object-side surface; 
 a second lens element with positive refractive power comprising a convex image-side surface; 
 a third lens element with positive refractive power comprising a concave object-side surface and a convex image-side surface; 
 a fourth lens element with negative refractive power; and 
 a fifth lens element with positive refractive power comprising a convex object-side surface, a concave image-side surface and at least one inflection point, and both the object-side surface and the image-side surface being aspheric; 
 wherein the photographing optical lens assembly has five lens elements with refractive powers; the photographing optical lens assembly further comprises a stop between the first lens element and the second lens element. 
 
     
     
       2. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 1 , further comprising an image plane, and the photographing optical lens assembly satisfying the following condition:
   0.75< SD/TD< 1.1; 
 wherein SD is an axial distance between the stop and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element; TD is an axial distance between the object-side surface of the first lens element and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element. 
 
     
     
       3. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein the photographing optical lens assembly satisfies the following condition:
   20< V   2   −V   4 <70; 
 wherein V 2  is an Abbe number of the second lens element; V 4  is an Abbe number of the fourth lens element. 
 
     
     
       4. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein the object-side surface of the second lens element is concave. 
     
     
       5. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein the fourth lens element comprises an object-side surface and an image-side surface, both the object-side surfaces and the image-side surfaces of the third lens element and the fourth lens element are aspheric, and the fifth lens element is made of plastic. 
     
     
       6. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 5 , wherein the first lens element and the fourth lens element have the same refractive index. 
     
     
       7. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein the photographing optical lens assembly satisfies the following condition:
   0.1< T   12   /T   23 <1.5; 
 wherein T 12  is an axial distance between the first lens element and the second lens element; T 23  is an axial distance between the second lens element and the third lens element. 
 
     
     
       8. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein the photographing optical lens assembly satisfies the following condition:
   0.75< f/f   2 <1.7; 
 wherein f is the focal length of the photographing optical lens assembly; f 2  is the focal length of the second lens element. 
 
     
     
       9. A photographing optical lens assembly comprising, in order from an object side to an image side:
 a first lens element with refractive power comprising a convex object-side surface; 
 a second lens element with positive refractive power comprising a convex image-side surface; 
 a third lens element with positive refractive power comprising a concave object-side surface and a convex image-side surface; 
 a fourth lens element with negative refractive power; and 
 a fifth lens element with positive refractive power comprising a convex object-side surface, a concave image-side surface and at least one inflection point, and both the object-side surface and the image-side surface being aspheric; 
 wherein the photographing optical lens assembly having five lens elements with refractive powers; the second lens element and the third lens element have the same refractive index. 
 
     
     
       10. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 9 , wherein the photographing optical lens assembly satisfies the following condition:
   20< V   2   −V   4 <70; 
 wherein V 2  is an Abbe number of the second lens element; V 4  is an Abbe number of the fourth lens element. 
 
     
     
       11. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 9 , further comprising a stop and an image plane, and the photographing optical lens assembly satisfying the following condition:
   0.75< SD/TD< 1.1; 
 wherein SD is an axial distance between the stop and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element; TD is an axial distance between the object-side surface of the first lens element and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element. 
 
     
     
       12. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 9 , wherein there is an axial distance formed between each of the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth elements. 
     
     
       13. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 9 , wherein the photographing optical lens assembly satisfies the following condition:
   0.75< f/f   2 <1.7; 
 wherein f is the focal length of the photographing optical lens assembly; f 2  is the focal length of the second lens element. 
 
     
     
       14. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 9 , the first lens element and the fourth lens element have the same refractive index. 
     
     
       15. A photographing optical lens assembly comprising, in order from an object side to an image side:
 a first lens element with refractive power comprising a convex object-side surface; 
 a second lens element with positive refractive power comprising a convex image-side surface; 
 a third lens element with positive refractive power comprising a concave object-side surface and a convex image-side surface, and both the object-side surface and the image-side surface being aspheric; 
 a fourth lens element with negative refractive power, and both of an object-side surface and an image-side surface of the fourth lens element being aspheric; and 
 a fifth lens element with positive refractive power comprising a convex object-side surface, a concave image-side surface and at least one inflection point, and both the object-side surface and the image-side surface being aspheric; 
 wherein the photographing optical lens assembly has five lens elements with refractive powers and satisfies the following condition:
   20< V   2   −V   4 <70; 
 
 wherein V 2  is an Abbe number of the second lens element; V 4  is an Abbe number of the fourth lens element. 
 
     
     
       16. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 15 , further comprising a stop and an image plane, and the photographing optical lens assembly satisfying the following condition:
   0.75< SD/TD< 1.1; 
 wherein SD is an axial distance between the stop and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element; TD is an axial distance between the object-side surface of the first lens element and the image-side surface of the fifth lens element. 
 
     
     
       17. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 16 , wherein the first lens element, the second lens element, the third lens element, the fourth lens element and the fifth lens element are made of plastic. 
     
     
       18. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 15 , wherein the photographing optical lens assembly satisfies the following condition:
   0.1< T   12   /T   23 <1.5; 
 wherein T 12  is an axial distance between the first lens element and the second lens element; T 23  is an axial distance between the second lens element and the third lens element. 
 
     
     
       19. The photographing optical lens assembly according to  claim 15 , wherein the second lens element and the third lens element have the same refractive index.
