Abstract

A universal interconnection system includes a bushing assembly having one or more bushing member disposed in an operative engagement between the components, wherein each bushing member is individually interconnected between the oppositely disposed components via corresponding bushing fasteners. Each of the oppositely disposed components comprises at least one interconnection aperture through which a portion of a bushing member is disposed prior to being secured therein by a corresponding bushing fastener. Each bushing fastener is removable from the bushing member thereby providing secure yet releasable interconnection of the oppositely disposed components.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

       1. A universal interconnection system is operable to secure a plurality of components to one another, said system comprising:
a bushing assembly comprising at least one bushing member having oppositely disposed ends which are operatively positioned between different ones of the plurality of components, wherein each of the plurality of components comprises at least one interconnection aperture formed therethrough,
each said oppositely disposed end of said at least one bushing member is at least partially disposed through said at least one interconnection aperture of a different one of each of the plurality of components, and
a plurality of bushing fasteners, wherein a different one of said plurality of bushing fasteners operatively engages each said oppositely disposed end of said at least one bushing member disposed through said at least one interconnection aperture of each of the plurality of components.

       2. The system as recited in claim 1 wherein a different one of said plurality of bushing fasteners releasably secures said at least one bushing member to and between each of the plurality of components, thereby releasably securing the plurality of components to one another.

       3. The system as recited in claim 1 wherein said at least one bushing member comprises a cylindrical configuration having an inner periphery and an outer periphery.

       4. The system as recited in claim 3 wherein each said interconnection aperture is dimensioned to permit passage therethrough of said outer periphery of said at least one bushing member while said at least one bushing member is in an unstressed state.

       5. The system as recited in claim 4 wherein each of said plurality of bushing fasteners comprises an enlarged fastener head having a dimension greater than said inner periphery of said at least one bushing member.

       6. The system as recited in claim 5 wherein each of said plurality of bushing fasteners comprises a plurality of threads, said plurality of threads of each of said plurality of bushing fasteners structured to operatively engage one of said oppositely disposed ends of said at least one bushing member.

       7. A universal interconnection system is operable to secure a plurality of components to one another, said system comprising:
a bushing assembly comprising a plurality of bushing members each having oppositely disposed ends which are operatively positioned between different ones of the plurality of components, wherein each of the plurality of components comprises a plurality of interconnection apertures formed therethrough,
each said oppositely disposed end of each of said plurality of bushing members at least partially disposed through a different one of each of said plurality of interconnection apertures of the plurality of components, and
a plurality of bushing fasteners, wherein each of said plurality of bushing fasteners operatively engages a different one of said oppositely disposed ends of said plurality of bushing members disposed through said plurality of interconnection apertures of the plurality of components.

       8. The system as recited in claim 7 wherein said plurality of bushing fasteners releasably secure said plurality of bushing members to and between each of the plurality of components, thereby releasably securing the plurality of components to one another.
