Abstract
A system and method for Web service archive deployment is describe. An exemplary method includes searching the Web services archive for a metadata descriptor, processing descriptors from the metadata descriptor, and generating a set of objects to serialize and deserialize input parameters.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1. A computer-implemented method for deploying contents of a Web services archive comprising:
searching the Web services archive for a metadata descriptor file that describes a mapping between a Web service described in the Web services archive and a Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) file that includes mapping information that is stored in the Web services archive;
reading the metadata descriptor to determine which Web service is described in the Web services archive;
storing the metadata descriptor and the mapping information in a Web services registry;
generating a set of objects to serialize and deserialize input parameters using a types descriptor that specifies a mapping between XML complex types and Java class files and the WSDL file of the Web services archive;
retrieving the mapping information from the Web services registry; and
storing the mapping information as web service data in a cache that is accessible within a message processing runtime framework by the Web service to process messages, the mapping information including a plurality of mapping descriptors that include a first mapping descriptor, the first mapping descriptor including a first value that corresponds to a first message and a first method descriptor that corresponds to a first method.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
saving information from the Web services archive into a file system.
3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
saving the set of objects to serialize and deserialize input parameters into the file system.
4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising:
persisting the set of objects to serialize and deserialize input parameters, the Web services archive, and the metadata descriptor to a data base.
5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
notifying a protocol in a protocol stack that the Web services archive has been deployed.
6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
providing configuration data to the protocol.
7. A non-transitory computer-readable medium including program code which, when executed by a machine, causes the machine to:
search the Web services archive for a metadata descriptor file that describes a mapping between a Web service described in the Web services archive and a Web Services Definition Language (WSDL) file that includes mapping information that is stored in the Web services archive;
read the metadata descriptor to determine which Web service is described in the Web services archive;
store the metadata descriptor and the mapping information in a Web services registry; and
generate a set of objects to serialize and deserialize input parameters using a types descriptor that specifies a mapping between XML complex types and Java class files and the WSDL file of the Web services archive;
retrieve the mapping information from the Web services registry; and
store the mapping information as web service data in a cache that is accessible within a message processing runtime framework by the Web service to process messages, the mapping information including a plurality of mapping descriptors that include a first mapping descriptor, the first mapping descriptor including a first value that corresponds to a first message and a first method descriptor that corresponds to a first method.
8. The computer-readable medium of claim 7 , the computer-readable medium further to:
save information from the Web services archive into a file system.
9. The computer-readable medium of claim 8 , computer-readable medium further to:
save the set of objects to serialize and deserialize input parameters into the file system.
10. The computer-readable medium of claim 9 , the computer-readable medium further to:
persist the set of objects to serialize and deserialize input parameters, the archive, and the metadata descriptors to a database.
11. The computer-readable medium of claim 7 , the computer-readable medium further to:
notify a protocol in a protocol stack that the Web services archive has been deployed.
12. The computer-readable medium of claim 11 , the computer-readable medium further to:
provide configuration data to the protocol.
13. A system comprising:
a processor; and
a memory coupled to the processor, the memory to provide functionality including,
a deployment service to receive a deployable Web services archive file, wherein the Web services archive file includes:
a WSDL file describing a Web service to be deployed,
a Web service class implementation file,
a Web Service Definition Language (WSDL) mapping file that includes mapping information,
a types file specifying a mapping between XML complex types and Java class files,
a configuration file, and
a metadata descriptor file describing locations of the files in the Web services archive;
a deployment manager to deploy the Web services archive file received by the deployment service, the deployment manager to store the mapping information in a web services registry;
a runtime data registry to store at least a portion of the Web services archive's contents; and
a runtime object to retrieve the mapping information from the Web services registry to cause the mapping information to store as web service data in a cache that is accessible within a message processing runtime framework by the Web service to process messages, the mapping information includes a plurality of mapping descriptors that includes a first mapping descriptor, the first mapping descriptor includes a first value that corresponds to a first message and a first method descriptor that corresponds to a first method.
14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the Web services deployable archive file is a WAR file.
15. The system of claim 13 , wherein the deployable Web services archive file is a JAR file.
16. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further including receiving the first message.
17. The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the first message is selected from a group of messages including a simple object access protocol (SOAP) message a hypertext transport protocol (HTTP) message and a multipurpose Internet mail extension (MIME) message.
18. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the first method descriptor includes:
a name of the first method;
an order of objects that the first method accepts as input parameters;
a specification of the types of objects that the first method accepts as input parameters;
a type of object that the first method returns; and
a plurality of exceptions that the first method may throw in response to a fault condition.
19. The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the first method is utilized to generate a response to the first message.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
