Souvenir holder
Abstract
A holder for holding and displaying coins and souvenirs, includes a front panel and a back panel secured together to hinge about a common axis along a common edge, and an inner panel pivotally secured to hinge about a common axis along a common edge of the back panel, a mounting face on the inside surface of each of the front and back panels, and a mounting face on opposite faces of the inner panel, or on loose sheets that can be added or removed, such as a three ring binder, each mounting face is formed with a plurality of vertically spaced rectangular surfaces, each rectangular surface having a pair of laterally disposed mounting positions for receiving and mounting a coin or souvenir, each mounting position defined by a planar surface bound by an upper and a lower groove, and a transparent retaining sheet covering each of the mounting positions.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1. A souvenir coin holder for holding and displaying souvenir coins, comprising:
at least a substantially rigid front panel and a substantially rigid back panel secured together to fold about a common side defining an axis, each panel having an inside surface and an outside surface;
a planar mounting face on the inside surface of each of said front and back panels;
a plurality of planar mounting positions on each mounting face for receiving and mounting a coin; and
each of said mounting positions defined by a transparent retaining cover attached to said mounting face along laterally spaced parallel lines and said retaining cover extending over each of said mounting positions in sufficiently close face to face relation to said mounting face defining a space less than the thickness of a souvenir coin for receiving and gripping a souvenir coin between opposing faces of said retaining cover and said mounting face wherein an opening to said space being on a side of said front and back panels other than said common side.
2. A souvenir holder according to claim 1 , wherein said retaining cover overlies and is in face to face engagement with said mounting face defining said space for receiving a coin there between.
3. A souvenir holder according to claimed 2 , further comprising an inner panel pivotally secured to said back panel.
4. A souvenir holder according to claim 3 , wherein said inner panel has a plurality of mounting positions on opposite faces thereof.
5. A souvenir holder according to claim 1 , wherein:
said mounting faces comprise a planar surface covered with a first vinyl sheet;
and a transparent vinyl strip defining said retaining cover overlying and tight against said first sheet and defining said space for receiving a coin there between.
6. A souvenir holder according to claim 1 , wherein each mounting face having a backing sheet.
7. A souvenir holder according to claim 6 , wherein said each mounting face is divided into a plurality of vertically spaced rectangular surfaces defined by said parallel lines, each rectangular surface having a pair of laterally disposed mounting positions.
8. A souvenir holder according to claim 7 , wherein said retaining cover enables insertion of a coin from each of two sides.
9. A souvenir holder according to claim 1 , wherein said laterally spaced parallel lines are horizontal lines defining a plurality of vertically spaced rectangular surfaces, each rectangular surface having a pair of laterally disposed mounting positions.
10. A souvenir holder according to claim 9 , further comprising an inner panel having front and back surfaces, said inner panel pivotally secured to said back panel and having a plurality of mounting positions on each of said front and back surfaces.
11. A souvenir holder according to claim 6 , wherein said front panel and said back panel are covered with an elastomer material enabling said panels to fold about said common axis.
12. A souvenir holder according to claim 1 , wherein said front panel and said back panel are covered with an elastomer material enabling said panels to fold about said common axis.
13. A holder for holding and displaying coins and souvenirs, comprising:
a plurality of laterally substantially rigid disposed panels comprising at least a front panel and a back panel secured together to hinge about a common side defining an axis, the front panel and back panel each having an inside surface and an outside surface;
a planar mounting face on the inside surface of each of said front and back panels; and
a transparent retaining sheet bonded to said mounting face at least along laterally spaced parallel lines defining a plurality of vertically spaced mounting positions and said retaining cover extending over each of said mounting positions in sufficiently close face to face relation to said mounting face defining a space less than the thickness of a souvenir coin to thereby require forcing of the coin in gripping engagement between opposing faces of said retaining sheet and said mounting face wherein an opening to said space being on a side of said front and back panels other than said common side.
14. A souvenir holder according to claim 13 , wherein said retaining sheet overlies and is in face to face engagement with said mounting face defining said space for receiving and gripping said coin therebetween.
15. A souvenir holder according to claim 14 , wherein said mounting faces comprise a planar surface covered with a first vinyl sheet, and a transparent vinyl strip defining said transparent retaining sheet and covering said first sheet for receiving a coin therebetween.
16. A souvenir holder according to claim 13 , wherein:
said mounting faces comprise a planar surface covered with a first vinyl sheet; and
a transparent vinyl strip defining said retaining sheet, and covering said first sheet for receiving a coin therebetween.
17. A holder for holding and displaying coins and souvenirs, comprising:
a plurality of laterally disposed substantially rigid panels comprising at least a front panel and a back panel secured together to hinge about a common side defining an axis, and an inner panel pivotally secured to hinge about said back panel, the front panel and back panel each having an inside surface and an outside surface;
a planar mounting face on the inside surface of each of said front and back panels, and a mounting face on opposite faces of said inner panel;
each mounting face is formed with a plurality of vertically spaced mounting positions;
each mounting position defined by a planar surface bound by spaced parallel bonding lines;
a transparent retaining sheet attached at least along said spaced parallel bonding lines to said mounting face; and
said retaining sheet extending over each of said mounting positions in sufficiently close face to face relation to said mounting face defining a space less than the thickness of a coin for receiving and gripping a coin between opposing faces of said retaining sheet and said mounting face, wherein an opening to said space being on a side of said front and back panels other than said common side.
18. A souvenir holder according to claim 17 , wherein said retaining sheet overlies and is in face to face engagement with said mounting face defining said snug space for receiving and gripping a coin therebetween.
19. A souvenir holder according to claim 17 , wherein said mounting faces comprise a planar surface covered with a first vinyl sheet; and a transparent vinyl strip defining said retaining sheet covering said first sheet for receiving a coin therebetween.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
