Claims

Abstract

A coating process for forming a metallic mirror surface on the receiving surface of a substrate to be coated is shown. The coating process comprises the steps of: cleaning a receiving surface of a substrate to be coated; spraying on the receiving surface an activating treatment agent solution containing stannous chloride and at least one precious metal salt of palladium, gold, silver and the like; treating said receiving surface having said activating treatment agent with a water wash treatment; and separately spraying concurrently on the receiving surface after treatment by said activating treatment agent a reacting metal salt solution and a reducing agent solution to form a metallic mirror surface on the receiving surface of a substrate to be coated.

What is claimed is:  
     
       1. A coating process comprising the steps of: 
       cleaning a receiving surface of a substrate to be coated;  
       spraying on the receiving surface an activating treatment agent solution containing stannous chloride and at least one precious metal salt of palladium, gold, silver and platinum;  
       treating said receiving surface having said activating treatment agent solution with a water wash treatment; and  
       separately spraying concurrently on the receiving surface after treatment by said activating treatment agent solution a reacting metal salt solution and a reducing agent solution to form a metallic mirror surface on the receiving surface of a substrate to be coated.  
     
     
       2. A metallic mirror surface coating process comprising the steps of: 
       cleaning a receiving surface to be coated with a metallic mirror surface;  
       spraying on the cleaned receiving surface an activating treatment agent as a solution containing stannous chloride and at least one precious metal salt of palladium, gold, silver and platinum;  
       spraying said receiving surface having said activating treatment agent solution with a water wash treatment; and  
       separately spraying concurrently on the receiving surface after treatment with said activating treatment agent solution a reacting metal salt solution and a reducing agent solution to form on the receiving surface a metallic mirror surface.  
     
     
       3. The coating process of  claim 1  wherein said step of spraying on the receiving surface includes an activating treatment agent solution wherein said at least one precious metal salt of palladium, gold, silver and platinum comprises about 0.001 g to about 0.005 g of a precious metal salt of at least one of a silver nitrate, palladium chloride, gold chloride and platinum chloride per 1 liter of water. 
     
     
       4. The coating process of  claim 1  wherein said step of spraying on the receiving surface includes an activating treatment agent solution wherein said stannous chloride comprises about 1.5 g to about 5 g of stannous chloride and wherein said at least one precious metal salt of palladium, gold, silver and platinum comprises about 0.001 g to about 0.005 g of a precious metal salt of at least one of a silver nitrate, palladium chloride, gold chloride and platinum chloride per 1 liter of water. 
     
     
       5. The coating process of  claim 1  wherein said step of separately spraying concurrently on the receiving surface includes a reacting metal salt solution containing about 6.0 g to about 25 g of sodium hydroxide, about 20 g to about 20 g of silver nitrate per 1 liter of water. 
     
     
       6. The coating process of  claim 1  wherein said step of spraying on the receiving surface includes a reducing agent solution containing about 1 g to about 4.5 g of tartaric acid, about 10 g to about 50 g of glucose and about 0.05 g to about 3.5 g of formaldehyde. 
     
     
       7. The metallic mirror surface coating process of  claim 2  wherein said step of spraying on the receiving surface includes an activating treatment agent solution wherein said at least one precious metal salt of palladium, gold, silver and platinum comprises about 0.001 g to about 0.005 g of a precious metal salt of at least one of a silver nitrate, palladium chloride, gold chloride and platinum chloride per 1 liter of water. 
     
     
       8. The metallic mirror surface coating process of  claim 2  wherein said step of spraying on the receiving surface includes an activating treatment agent solution wherein said stannous chloride comprises about 1.5 g to about 5 g of stannous chloride and wherein said at least one precious metal salt of palladium, gold, silver and platinum comprises about 0.001 g to about 0.005 g of a precious metal salt of at least one of a silver nitrate, palladium chloride, gold chloride and platinum chloride per 1 liter of water. 
     
     
       9. The metallic mirror surface coating process of  claim 2  wherein said step of separately spraying concurrently on the receiving surface includes a reacting metal salt solution containing about 6.0 g to about 25 g of sodium hydroxide, about 20 g to about 20 g of silver nitrate per 1 liter of water. 
     
     
       10. The metallic mirror surface coating process of  claim 2  wherein said step of spraying on the receiving surface includes a reducing agent solution containing about 1 g to about 4.5 g of tartaric acid, about 10 g to about 50 g of glucose and about 0.05 g to about 3.5 g of formaldehyde.
