Claims

Abstract

A wrapper, comprising a floral grouping having a bloom portion and a stem portion and a flexible sleeve having a bonding material thereon, the sleeve being positioned about the floral grouping and the sleeve substantially surrounding and encompassing the floral grouping, forming a wrapper, and methods of using the wrapper.

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A method for wrapping a floral grouping, comprising the steps of: disposing the floral grouping in a flexible sleeve having an outer surface, an inner surface defining a floral grouping retaining space, and an adhesive or cohesive bonding material on at least one of the outer and inner surfaces such that the bonding material on the sleeve is disposed adjacent at least a portion of the floral grouping and such that the floral grouping is disposed in the retaining space of the sleeve; and   crimping the portion of the sleeve having the adhesive or cohesive bonding material about a portion of the floral grouping such that portions of the sleeve are adhesively or cohesively connected so as to secure the crimped portion of the sleeve in a crimped condition about the floral grouping wherein at least a portion of said portion of the floral grouping is disposed within the crimped portion of the sleeve.   
     
     
       2. The method of claim 1 wherein in the step of providing a flexible sleeve, the sleeve is constructed from a material selected from the group consisting of untreated paper, treated paper, cellophane, foil, polymeric film, woven fabric, nonwoven fabric, synthetic fabric, natural fabric, burlap, cloth, and any combination thereof. 
     
     
       3. The method of claim 1 wherein the bonding material is a strip of bonding material extending circumferentially along the sleeve. 
     
     
       4. The method of claim 1 wherein the sleeve is dimensioned to substantially encompass the floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed in the floral grouping retaining space. 
     
     
       5. The method of claim 1 wherein the sleeve has a cylindrical shape in an uncrimped condition. 
     
     
       6. The method of claim 1 wherein the sleeve has a frustoconical shape in an uncrimped condition. 
     
     
       7. The method of claim 1 wherein the sleeve has a closed lower end. 
     
     
       8. A method for wrapping a floral grouping, comprising the steps of: disposing the floral grouping in a flexible sleeve having an outer surface, an inner surface defining a floral grouping retaining space, a closed lower end, and an adhesive or cohesive bonding material on at least one of the outer and inner surfaces such that the sleeve is disposed about at least a portion of the floral grouping and such that the floral grouping is disposed in the retaining space of the sleeve; and   crimping the sleeve about a portion of the floral grouping along the bonding material of the sleeve such that portions of the sleeve are bondingly connected so as to secure the crimped portion of the sleeve in a crimped condition about the floral grouping wherein at least a portion of said portion of the floral grouping is disposed within the crimped portion of the sleeve and wherein the sleeve is free of any other means for securing the sleeve about the floral grouping.   
     
     
       9. The method of claim 8 wherein the bonding material is a strip of bonding material extending circumferentially along the sleeve. 
     
     
       10. The method of claim 8 wherein the bonding material is a pressure sensitive adhesive or cohesive. 
     
     
       11. The method of claim 8 wherein the sleeve is dimensioned to substantially encompass the floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed in the floral grouping retaining space. 
     
     
       12. The method of claim 8 wherein the sleeve has a cylindrical shape in an uncrimped condition. 
     
     
       13. The method of claim 8 wherein the sleeve has a frustoconical shape in an uncrimped condition. 
     
     
       14. A method for wrapping a floral grouping, comprising the steps of: disposing the floral grouping in a flexible sleeve having an outer surface, an inner surface defining a floral grouping retaining space, and an adhesive or cohesive bonding material on at least one of the outer and inner surfaces such that the bonding material on the sleeve is disposed adjacent at least a portion of the floral grouping and such that the floral grouping is disposed in the retaining space of the sleeve; and   crimping the portion of the sleeve having the adhesive or cohesive bonding material about a portion of the floral grouping such that portions of the sleeve are adhesively or cohesively connected so as to secure the crimped portion of the sleeve in a crimped condition about the floral grouping wherein at least a portion of said portion of the floral grouping is disposed within the crimped portion of the sleeve and wherein the sleeve is free of any other means for securing the sleeve about the floral grouping.   
     
     
       15. The method of claim 14 wherein in the step of providing a flexible sleeve, the sleeve is constructed from a material selected from the group consisting of untreated paper, treated paper, cellophane, foil, polymeric film, woven fabric, nonwoven fabric, synthetic fabric, natural fabric, burlap, cloth, and any combination thereof. 
     
     
       16. The method of claim 14 wherein the bonding material is a strip of bonding material extending circumferentially along the sleeve. 
     
     
       17. The method of claim 14 wherein the sleeve is dimensioned to substantially encompass the floral grouping when the floral grouping is disposed in the floral grouping retaining space. 
     
     
       18. The method of claim 14 wherein the sleeve has a cylindrical shape in an uncrimped condition. 
     
     
       19. The method of claim 14 wherein the sleeve has a frustoconical shape in an uncrimped condition. 
     
     
       20. The method of claim 14 wherein the sleeve has a closed lower end.
