Abstract

A carbon fiber covered on the surface with an aromatic polysulfone resin and then heated at 300 DEG -400 DEG C., a heat-resistant resin composition with excellent mechanical strength comprising 5-50% by weight of the carbon fiber and 95-50% by weight of a heat-resistant resin, and an internal combustion engine part, particularly an impeller of centrifugal compressor produced in one step, using the resin composition.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

       1. An impeller of a centrifugal compressor comprising a heat-resistant resin composition, said heat-resistant resin composition comprising (a) 5-50% by weight of a carbon fiber which has been coated with an aromatic polysulfone resin and then heated at 300°-400° C. and (b) 95-50% by weight of a heat-resistant resin.

       2. The impeller according to claim 1 wherein said aromatic polysulfone resin comprises structural units selected from the group consisting of ##STR4##

       3. The impeller according to claim 2, wherein said aromatic polysulfone resin comprises the following structural unit: ##STR5##

       4. The impeller as claimed in claim 1, wherein said heat-resistant resin is polyether sulfone, polyether imide, polysulfone, polyamide imide, polyimide, polyphenylene sulfide, polyether ether ketone, aromatic polyester or polyether ketone.
