Abstract

Disclosed are a 2-methyl-4-amino-5-aminomethylpyrimidine carbonate which is a novel compound, a process for preparing the same which comprises subjecting 2-methyl-4-amino-5-aminomethylpyrimidine to reaction with carbon dioxide in a lower aliphatic alcohol, and a simple method of purification of 2-methyl-4-amino-5-aminomethylpyrimidine by using the carbonate thereof.
