Herbicidal active sulfoxide and sulfone compounds

Abstract

Herbicidal active sulfoxide and sulfone compounds and their method of use as described herein. The compounds have the following generic formula: <IMAGE> wherein n is 1 or 2; R is selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl and lower haloalkyl; R1 and R2 taken together form an alkylene group having 5 or 6 carbon atoms, alkyl substituted alkylene group or <IMAGE>

What is claimed is: 
     
       1. A compound represented by the following formula ##STR34## wherein R is lower alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms or chloropropyl; R 1  and R 2  together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form piperidino, hexamethyleneimino, decahydroquinolino, 2,5-dimethylpiperidino, 5-ethyl-2-methylpiperidino. 
     
     
       2. The compound as set forth in claim 1 wherein R is --C 2  H 5 , and R 1  and R 2  are ##STR35## 
     
     
       3. The compound as set forth in claim 1 wherein R is n--C 3  H 7 , and R 1  and R 2  are ##STR36## 
     
     
       4. The compound as set forth in claim 1 wherein R is i--C 3  H 7 , and R 1  and R 2  are ##STR37## 
     
     
       5. The compound as set forth in claim 1 wherein R is --C 3  H 6  --Cl, and R 1  and R 2  are ##STR38## 
     
     
       6. The compound as set forth in claim 1 wherein R is n--C 4  H 9 , and R 1  and R 2  are ##STR39##
