Disposable ceiling fan blade cover

Abstract

A ceiling fan blade protection system is disclosed. The system includes a ceiling fan that has a first fan blade, a transparent first blade cover, and an adhesive material. The first blade cover is shaped like the first fan blade as a bag and defines a first opening, a first upper surface, and a first lower surface. The first blade cover is slidably mounted on and removable from the first fan blade. the adhesive material is bonded with the upper surface of the first blade cover and designed to collect dust.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A ceiling fan blade protection system comprising:
 a ceiling fan comprising an at least one fan blade;   a fan blade cover, for the at least one fan blade, said cover comprising a pliable material, being slidably mounted on and removable from the at least one fan blade: and   an adhesive material bonded to an upper surface of the at least one blade cover.   
     
     
         2 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 1 , wherein the pliable material stretches to fit over the at least one fan blade when pressure is applied. 
     
     
         3 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 1 , wherein the pliable material contracts to fit snuggly on the at least one fan blade when pressure is released. 
     
     
         4 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 1 , wherein the pliable material hugs the fan blade and requires no additional securing device when the blade is in motion or stationary. 
     
     
         5 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 1 , wherein the adhesive material is formulated to capture and retain dust particles. 
     
     
         6 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 1 , wherein the adhesive material is applied by spraying or brushing the surface of the fan blade cover with the adhesive material. 
     
     
         7 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 6 , wherein the adhesive material is pre-applied to the fan blade cover and covered by a removeable protective sheet. 
     
     
         8 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 7 , wherein the removeable protective sheet is removed after the fan blade cover is mounted on the fan blade. 
     
     
         9 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 1 , wherein the fan blade cover with the adhesive material is removable from the fan blade. 
     
     
         10 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 1 , wherein the fan blade cover comes in multiple sizes to fit a variety of fan blades. 
     
     
         11 . The ceiling fan blade protection system of  claim 1 , wherein the fan blade cover is transparent. 
     
     
         12 . A method of protecting an at least one fan blade of a ceiling fan, the method comprising the steps of:
 providing a pliable fan blade cover, the blade cover having a first opening, a first upper surface, and a first lower surface;   applying pressure to stretch the pliable blade cover so as to align the first opening of the blade cover with the end of the fan blade that connects to the central hub of the ceiling fan;   slidably mounting the fan blade cover on the fan blade by moving the fan blade cover from an outer tip of the fan blade to the central hub of the ceiling fan so as to cover the full length of the fan blade;   releasing the pressure on the fan blade cover so the cover fits snuggly on the fan blade;   removing the protective sheet to expose the adhesive material;   collecting dust with the adhesive material; and   removing the at least one blade cover from the at least one fan blade.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , further comprising the step of:
 disposing of the blade cover.   
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 12 , further comprising the step of:
 slidably mounting a new blade cover on the fan blade after the dust filled fan blade cover is removed.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the adhesive material may be applied by spraying or brushing the material on the fan blade cover after it is mounted. 
     
     
         16 . A ceiling fan blade protection system kit comprising:
 a. an at least one fan blade cover;   b. an adhesive material; and   c. a tool to apply the adhesive to the fan blade cover.   
     
     
         17 . The ceiling fan blade protection system kit of  claim 16 , wherein the at least one blade cover is sized to fit a variety of fan blades. 
     
     
         18 . The ceiling fan blade protection system kit of  claim 16 , wherein the fan blade cover is transparent. 
     
     
         19 . The ceiling fan blade protection system kit of  claim 16 , wherein the adhesive is pre-applied and covered with a protective sheet. 
     
     
         20 . The ceiling fan blade protection system kit of  claim 16 , wherein the adhesive tool is a brush or a spray applicator.
