Golf club head
Abstract
A golf club head comprises a head main body having a top portion, a face plate attached to the front side of the head main body, and a badge attached to the rear side of the head main body. The face plate has a peripheral convex portion protruding toward the rear side of the head. The head main body comprises a top-side supporting portion extending downward from the top portion and having a supporting surface contacting with and supporting the rear surface of the peripheral convex portion, and an extension portion extending further downward from the top-side supporting portion. The extension portion is partially located on the striking face side of the supporting surface and does not contact with the face plate. The badge is fixed to the extension portion without contacting with the face plate.

2 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the upper portion of the badge is fixed to the top side supporting portion in addition to the extension portion.
3 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
a thickness of the extension portion measured perpendicularly to the striking face is decreased toward the lower side of the head.
4 . The golf club head according to claim 2 , wherein
a thickness of the extension portion measured perpendicularly to the striking face is decreased toward the lower side of the head.
5 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the rear surface of the extension portion includes stepped surfaces gradually shifted to the striking face side toward the lower side of the head.
6 . The golf club head according to claim 2 , wherein
the rear surface of the extension portion includes stepped surfaces gradually shifted to the striking face side toward the lower side of the head.
7 . The golf club head according to claim 3 , wherein
the rear surface of the extension portion includes stepped surfaces gradually shifted to the striking face side toward the lower side of the head.
8 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
a thickness of the extension portion measured perpendicularly to the striking face is continuously decreased toward the lower side of the head.
9 . The golf club head according to claim 2 , wherein
a thickness of the extension portion measured perpendicularly to the striking face is continuously decreased toward the lower side of the head.
10 . The golf club head according to claim 3 , wherein
a thickness of the extension portion measured perpendicularly to the striking face is continuously decreased toward the lower side of the head.
11 . The golf club head according to claim 5 , wherein
a thickness of the extension portion measured perpendicularly to the striking face is continuously decreased toward the lower side of the head.
12 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the extension portion extends continuously in a toe-heel direction of the head along the top portion.
13 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the extension portion includes a toe-side extension portion and a heel-side extension portion which are separated apart from each other.
14 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the extension portion has a dimension measured in an up-down direction of the head along the striking face which is greater on a toe side than on a heel side.
15 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the extension portion has a dimension measured in an up-down direction of the head along the striking face which is greater on a heel side than on a toe side.
16 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the extension portion has a dimension measured in an up-down direction of the head along the striking face which is greater on a heel side and a toe side than in an intermediate portion therebetween.
17 . The golf club head according to claim 1 which is an iron type golf club head for an iron club.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
