Abstract

Exercise apparatuses are described. An example exercise apparatus has a lengthwise axis and includes a first shaft, a first frame, a first handle, a second frame, and a second handle. The first shaft has a first shaft first end and a first shaft second end. The first frame is attached to the first shaft first end and defines a first frame passageway. The first handle is disposed within the first frame passageway such that the first handle can translate along the lengthwise axis and rotate within the first frame passageway. The second frame is attached to the first shaft second end and defines a second frame passageway. The second handle is disposed within the second frame passageway such that the second handle can translate along the lengthwise axis and rotate within the second frame passageway.

         2 . An exercise apparatus having a lengthwise axis and comprising:
 a first frame defining a first frame passageway having a length; and   a first handle attached to the first frame and disposed within the first frame passageway, the first handle comprising a ring member and a handle shaft attached to and disposed within the ring member, the first handle rotatable within the first frame passageway such that as the ring member rotates within the first frame passageway an orientation of the handle shaft relative to said lengthwise axis changes, the first handle translatable along said lengthwise axis and the length of the first frame passageway, the first handle having 360 degrees of rotation within the first frame passageway.   
     
     
         3 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 2 , further comprising a first shaft; and
 wherein the first frame is attached to the first shaft.   
     
     
         4 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein the first frame is releasably attached to the first shaft. 
     
     
         5 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein the first handle is translatable along said lengthwise axis and the length of the first frame passageway between a first position in which the first handle is disposed a first distance from the first shaft and a second position in which the first handle is disposed a second distance from the first shaft, the second distance being greater than the first distance. 
     
     
         6 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 3 , further comprising a second frame attached to the first shaft, the second frame defining a second frame passageway and having a second length. 
     
     
         7 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein the second frame is releasably attached to the first shaft. 
     
     
         8 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 6 , further comprising a second handle attached to the second frame and disposed within the second frame passageway, the second handle rotatable within the second frame passageway. 
     
     
         9 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein the second handle is translatable along said lengthwise axis and the second length of the second frame passageway between a third position in which the second handle is disposed a third distance from the first shaft and a fourth position in which the second handle is disposed a fourth distance from the first shaft, the fourth distance being greater than the third distance. 
     
     
         10 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein the second handle comprises a second ring member and a second handle shaft attached to and disposed within the second ring member. 
     
     
         11 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 10 , wherein the second handle is rotatable within the second frame passageway such that as the second ring member rotates within the second frame passageway an orientation of the second handle shaft relative to said lengthwise axis changes. 
     
     
         12 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein the second handle has 360 degrees of rotation within the second frame passageway. 
     
     
         13 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 2 , further comprising a second shaft attached to the first frame. 
     
     
         14 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein the first frame is formed of metal. 
     
     
         15 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 2 , wherein first handle is formed of metal. 
     
     
         16 . An exercise apparatus having a lengthwise axis and comprising:
 a first shaft;   a first frame attached to the first shaft and defining a first frame passageway having a length;   a first handle attached to the first frame and disposed within the first frame passageway, the first handle comprising a ring member and a handle shaft attached to and disposed within the ring member, the first handle rotatable within the first frame passageway such that as the ring member rotates within the first frame passageway an orientation of the handle shaft relative to said lengthwise axis changes, the first handle translatable along said lengthwise axis and the length of the first frame passageway, the first handle having 360 degrees of rotation within the first frame passageway; and   a second frame attached to the first shaft, the second frame defining a second frame passageway.   
     
     
         17 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein the first handle is translatable along said lengthwise axis and the length of the first frame passageway between a first position in which the first handle is disposed a first distance from the first shaft and a second position in which the first handle is disposed a second distance from the first shaft, the second distance being greater than the first distance. 
     
     
         18 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 16 , further comprising a second handle attached to the second frame and disposed within the second frame passageway, the second handle rotatable within the second frame passageway and having 360 degrees of rotation within the second frame passageway. 
     
     
         19 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 18 , wherein the second frame passageway has a second length; and
 wherein the second handle is translatable along said lengthwise axis and the second length of the second frame passageway between a third position in which the second handle is disposed a third distance from the first shaft and a fourth position in which the second handle is disposed a fourth distance from the first shaft, the fourth distance being greater than the third distance.   
     
     
         20 . The exercise apparatus of  claim 18 , wherein the second handle comprises a second ring member and a second handle shaft attached to and disposed within the second ring member; and
 wherein the second handle is rotatable within the second frame passageway such that as the second ring member rotates within the second frame passageway an orientation of the second handle shaft relative to said lengthwise axis changes.   
     
     
         21 . An exercise apparatus having a lengthwise axis and comprising:
 a first shaft;   a first frame attached to the first shaft and defining a first frame passageway having a length;   a first handle attached to the first frame and disposed within the first frame passageway, the first handle comprising a ring member and a handle shaft attached to and disposed within the ring member, the first handle rotatable within the first frame passageway such that as the ring member rotates within the first frame passageway an orientation of the handle shaft relative to said lengthwise axis changes, the first handle translatable along said lengthwise axis and the length of the first frame passageway between a first position in which the first handle is disposed a first distance from the first shaft and a second position in which the first handle is disposed a second distance from the first shaft, the second distance being greater than the first distance, the first handle having 360 degrees of rotation within the first frame passageway;   a second frame attached to the first shaft, the second frame defining a second frame passageway; and   a second handle attached to the second frame and disposed within the second frame passageway, the second handle rotatable within the second frame passageway and having 360 degrees of rotation within the second frame passageway.
