Abstract

A cigarette filter device is a device that allows the removable attachment of a secondary filter to a filtered cigarette. The device enables the removal of additional smoke, tar, and chemicals that were not removed by the cigarette's filter from the smoke being inhaled by the user. The device is preferably an overall cylindrical sleeve with a tubular body designed to enable the removable coupling of the secondary filter with the filtered cigarette. The tubular body preferably accommodates standard fiber filters and standard filtered cigarettes that are commonly available. In addition, the open ends of the tubular body are designed to specifically accommodate the secondary filter and the filtered cigarette at opposite ends of the tubular body. Further, the tubular body is designed so that the secondary filter and the filtered cigarette can be coupled without the use of fasteners or other mechanical devices.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A cigarette filter device comprising:
 a tubular body;   the tubular body comprising a cigarette-receiving end, a filter-receiving end, a first inner annular surface, a second inner annular surface, an inner annular peak, and an outer annular surface;   the tubular body being made from a reusable plastic material;   the cigarette-receiving end and the filter-receiving end being positioned opposite to each other along the cylindrical body;   the first inner annular surface, the second inner annular surface, and the outer annular surface being positioned concentric to each other;   the first inner annular surface and the second inner annular surface being encircled by the outer annular surface;   the first inner annular surface and the second inner annular surface being connected adjacent to each other at the inner annular peak;   the first inner annular surface tapering from the cigarette-receiving end to the inner annular peak; and   the second inner annular surface tapering from the filter-receiving end to inner annular peak.   
     
     
         2 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a length of the tubular body and a diameter of the tubular body is 8.7:32. 
     
     
         3 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a distance from the cigarette-receiving end to the inner annular peak and a length of the tubular body is 11:32. 
     
     
         4 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a distance from the inner annular peak to the filter-receiving end and a length of the tubular body is 21:32. 
     
     
         5 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a diameter of the first inner annular surface coincident with the cigarette-receiving end is greater than a diameter of the first inner annular surface coincident with the filter-receiving end. 
     
     
         6 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 5 , wherein a ratio between the diameter of the first inner annular surface coincident with the cigarette-receiving end and the diameter of the second inner annular surface coincident with the filter-receiving end is 80:79. 
     
     
         7 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a diameter of the first inner annular surface coincident with the cigarette-receiving end and a diameter of the inner annular peak is 40:37. 
     
     
         8 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a diameter of the second inner annular surface coincident with the cigarette-receiving end and a diameter of the inner annular peak is 79:74. 
     
     
         9 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a diameter of the outer annular surface coincident with the cigarette-receiving end and a diameter of the first inner annular surface coincident with the cigarette-receiving end is 87:80. 
     
     
         10 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a diameter of the outer annular surface coincident with the filter-receiving end and a diameter of the second inner annular surface coincident with the filter-receiving end is 87:79. 
     
     
         11 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a thickness of the tubular body from the outer annular surface to the first annular inner surface at the cigarette-receiving end and a thickness of the tubular body from the outer annular surface to the inner annular peak is 7:13. 
     
     
         12 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein a ratio between a thickness of the tubular body from the outer annular surface to the second annular inner surface at the filter-receiving end and a thickness of the tubular body from the outer annular surface to the inner annular peak is 8:13. 
     
     
         13 . The cigarette filter device as claimed in  claim 1  comprising:
 an annular visual indicator; and 
 the annular visual indicator being inscribed around the outer annular surface, adjacent to the inner annular peak.
