Manhole Marker Assembly

Abstract

A manhole marker assembly for attaching to a manhole cover to identify a manhole comprises a marker assembly base, a marker mounted to the marker assembly base, and a clamp mounted to the marker assembly base. The clamp comprises a first jaw and a second jaw. At least one of the first jaw and the second jaw are movable and can be engaged to a manhole cover to attach the manhole marker assembly to the manhole cover.

         21 . A manhole marker assembly for a marking a manhole, the manhole marker assembly comprising:
 a marker; and,   a clamp operably connected to the marker, wherein the clamp comprises a first jaw and a second jaw, wherein the first jaw comprises a first tooth and the second jaw comprises a second tooth, and wherein each of the first jaw and the second jaw is configured to engage a pick notch formed in a manhole cover, wherein the manhole marker assembly is movable between a manhole cover attached alignment and a manhole cover detached alignment, wherein the manhole marker assembly is attached to a manhole cover in the manhole cover attached alignment, and wherein the first jaw and the second jaw engage the pick notches of the manhole cover in the manhole cover attached alignment.   
     
     
         22 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 21 , wherein the clamp comprises a jaw assembly, and wherein the jaw assembly comprises the first jaw and a first jaw rod connected to the first jaw. 
     
     
         23 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 22 , wherein the clamp comprises a second jaw assembly, and wherein the second jaw assembly comprises the second jaw and a second jaw rod connected to the second jaw. 
     
     
         24 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 23 , further comprising a marker assembly base, wherein the clamp and the marker are operably connected to the marker assembly base. 
     
     
         25 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 24 , wherein the marker assembly base is aligned between the first jaw and the second jaw. 
     
     
         26 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 25 , wherein the first jaw rod is movably aligned within a first jaw rod channel formed in the marker assembly base. 
     
     
         27 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 26 , wherein the second jaw rod is movably aligned within a second jaw rod channel formed in the marker assembly base. 
     
     
         28 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 24 , wherein the marker is pivotally mounted to the marker assembly base. 
     
     
         29 . A manhole marker assembly for attaching to a manhole cover and marking a manhole, the manhole marker assembly comprising:
 a clamp configured to secure the manhole marker assembly to a manhole cover, the clamp comprising a first jaw and a second jaw, wherein each of the first jaw and the second jaw is configured to engage a pick notch formed in the manhole cover; and, a marker operably connected to the clamp.   
     
     
         30 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 29 , wherein the first jaw comprises a tooth configured to engage the pick notch in the manhole cover. 
     
     
         31 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 29 , wherein the marker is pivotally movable. 
     
     
         32 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 29 , further comprising a marker assembly base operably connected to the marker and the clamp. 
     
     
         33 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 32 , wherein the first jaw and the second jaw are movably mounted to the marker assembly base.

The manhole marker assembly of  claim 33 , wherein the first jaw is connected to a first jaw rod, wherein the second jaw is connected to a second jaw rod, wherein the first jaw rod is aligned within a first jaw rod channel in the marker base assembly, and wherein the second jaw rod is aligned within a second jaw rod channel in the marker base assembly. 
     
     
         35 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 34 , wherein the first jaw rod and the second jaw rod are connected to a turnbuckle. 
     
     
         36 . A manhole marker assembly for attaching to a manhole cover and marking a manhole, the manhole marker assembly comprising:
 a marker comprising a marker body, wherein the marker body comprises a marker body top and a marker body bottom, wherein the marker comprises a marker pivot assembly, wherein the marker body is mounted to the marker pivot assembly, wherein the marker body is pivotally movable on the marker pivot assembly; and, a clamp operably connected to the marker, wherein the clamp is configured to secure the manhole marker assembly to a manhole cover, the clamp comprising a first jaw assembly and a second jaw assembly, wherein the first jaw assembly comprises a first jaw mounted on a first jaw rod, wherein the second jaw assembly comprises a second jaw mounted on a second jaw rod, wherein each of the first jaw and the second jaw is configured to engage a pick notch formed in the manhole cover, wherein the manhole marker assembly is attached to a manhole cover in a manhole cover attached alignment, and wherein the first jaw and the second jaw engage the pick notches of the manhole cover in the manhole cover attached alignment.   
     
     
         37 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 36 , further comprising a marker assembly base operably connected to the marker and the clamp. 
     
     
         38 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 37 , wherein the first jaw rod extends through a first opening in the marker assembly base. 
     
     
         39 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 38 , wherein the second jaw rod extends through a second opening in the marker assembly base. 
     
     
         40 . The manhole marker assembly of  claim 36 , wherein the first jaw rod comprises a tooth.
