Abstract
A post-processing device includes a first binding unit configured to bind a set of media; a second binding unit different from the first binding unit; a guiding component capable of guiding either of the first binding unit and the second binding unit to an end binding position where an end part of the set of media is to be bound by the first binding unit or the second binding unit; and an aligning component configured to align ends of the media to be bound, the ends being on a side toward which the media are transported, the aligning component being movable in a direction intersecting a direction of transport of the media when the first binding unit or the second binding unit moves along the guiding component in the direction intersecting the direction of transport of the media.

1 . A post-processing device comprising:
a first binding unit configured to bind a set of media; a second binding unit different from the first binding unit; a guiding component capable of guiding either of the first binding unit and the second binding unit to an end binding position where an end part of the set of media is to be bound by the first binding unit or the second binding unit; and an aligning component configured to align ends of the media to be bound, the ends being on a side toward which the media are transported, the aligning component being movable in a direction intersecting a direction of transport of the media when the first binding unit or the second binding unit moves along the guiding component in the direction intersecting the direction of transport of the media.
2 . The post-processing device according to claim 1 ,
wherein the aligning component includes a first aligner configured to move to a position on an outer side relative to a first aligning position in a widthwise direction of the media in response to the first binding unit moving toward a first corner binding position where a corner of the set of media is to be bound, the first aligning position being a position where the first aligner aligns the ends of the media.
3 . The post-processing device according to claim 2 ,
wherein the first aligning position is set in such a manner as to overlap either of the first binding unit and the second binding unit that is performing end binding.
4 . The post-processing device according to claim 2 ,
wherein the first aligning position is set in such a manner as to avoid interfering with the first binding unit moved to the first corner binding position.
5 . The post-processing device according to claim 2 ,
wherein the first aligner is configured to move in conjunction with a movement of the first binding unit, the movement being caused by a first contact part included in the first binding unit coming into contact with a first contact receiving part included in the first aligner.
6 . The post-processing device according to claim 2 , further comprising:
a first driving component configured to move the first aligner in response to a movement of the first binding unit.
7 . The post-processing device according to claim 2 , further comprising:
a first moving component configured to move the first aligner to the first aligning position in response to the first binding unit moving along the guiding component to the first corner binding position.
8 . The post-processing device according to claim 1 ,
wherein the aligning component includes a second aligner configured to move to a position on an inner side relative to a second aligning position in a widthwise direction of the media in response to the second binding unit moving toward a second corner binding position where a corner of the set of media is to be bound, the second aligning position being a position where the second aligner aligns the ends of the media, the corner being opposite the corner to be bound by the first binding unit at the first corner binding position in the direction in which the second binding unit is movable.
9 . The post-processing device according to claim 8 ,
wherein the second aligning position is set in such a manner as to overlap the second binding unit that is performing corner binding at the second corner binding position.
10 . The post-processing device according to claim 8 ,
wherein the second aligning position is set in such a manner as to avoid interfering with the second binding unit moved to the second corner binding position.
11 . The post-processing device according to claim 8 ,
wherein the second aligner is configured to move in conjunction with a movement of the second binding unit, the movement being caused by a second contact part included in the second binding unit coming into contact with a second contact receiving part included in the second aligner.
12 . The post-processing device according to claim 8 , further comprising:
a second driving component configured to move the second aligner in response to a movement of the second binding unit.
13 . The post-processing device according to claim 8 , further comprising:
a second moving component configured to move the second aligner to the second aligning position in response to the second binding unit moving along the guiding component to the second corner binding position.
14 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
an image recording device configured to record an image on a medium; and the post-processing device according to claim 1 , the post-processing device being configured to perform post-processing on the media having images recorded by the image recording device.
15 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
an image recording device configured to record an image on a medium; and the post-processing device according to claim 2 , the post-processing device being configured to perform post-processing on the media having images recorded by the image recording device.
16 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
an image recording device configured to record an image on a medium; and the post-processing device according to claim 3 , the post-processing device being configured to perform post-processing on the media having images recorded by the image recording device.
17 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
an image recording device configured to record an image on a medium; and the post-processing device according to claim 4 , the post-processing device being configured to perform post-processing on the media having images recorded by the image recording device.
18 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
an image recording device configured to record an image on a medium; and the post-processing device according to claim 5 , the post-processing device being configured to perform post-processing on the media having images recorded by the image recording device.
19 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
an image recording device configured to record an image on a medium; and the post-processing device according to claim 6 , the post-processing device being configured to perform post-processing on the media having images recorded by the image recording device.
20 . An image forming apparatus comprising:
