Claims

Abstract

An adjustable support for a foldable bed frame is provided, comprising an inner tubular bar with an inner hole, and an outer tubular bar slidably coupled to the inner tubular bar and having an outer hole corresponding to the inner hole. A locking mechanism inside the inner tubular bar includes a fixing pin inserted into the inner hole and an elastic member connected to the fixing pin, wherein the fixing pin protrudes outwardly to engage the outer hole and restrict sliding of the inner and outer tubular bars. A release mechanism includes a sleeve fixed to one end of the outer tubular bar, a through-hole in the sleeve aligned with the outer hole, and a locking screw threadably engaged with the through-hole to actuate the fixing pin, thereby selectively releasing the locking mechanism. The support enables secure locking when extended and easy unlocking with minimal force when folding the bed frame.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An adjustable support for a foldable bed frame, comprising:
 an inner tubular bar having an inner hole formed in one side wall thereof;   an outer tubular bar slidably coupled to the inner tubular bar and having an outer hole formed in one side wall thereof so as to correspond to the inner hole;   a locking mechanism disposed inside the inner tubular bar, the locking mechanism including a fixing pin inserted into the inner hole and an elastic member connected to the fixing pin, wherein the fixing pin protrudes outward from the inner hole and is inserted into the outer hole so as to restrict sliding movement between the inner tubular bar and the outer tubular bar; and   a release mechanism, including:
 a sleeve fixedly coupled to one end of the outer tubular bar; 
 a through-hole formed in one surface of the sleeve at a position corresponding to the outer hole; and 
 a locking screw threadably engaged with the through-hole. 
   
     
     
         2 . The support of  claim 1 , wherein:
 an inner thread is formed on an inner side of the through-hole so as to correspond to a threaded portion of the locking screw; and   the locking screw comprises the threaded portion, a pressing protrusion extending downward from a lower end of the threaded portion, a knob-shaped head, and an intermediate connecting portion connecting the head and the threaded portion.   
     
     
         3 . The support of  claim 2 , wherein:
 the intermediate connecting portion has a smaller diameter than the threaded portion;   a detachment-preventing member is coupled to an upper end of the sleeve adjacent to the through-hole to prevent detachment of the locking screw; and   the detachment-preventing member covers part of the through-hole from above so as to prevent the locking screw from moving upward beyond a predetermined position.   
     
     
         4 . The support of  claim 2 , wherein the pressing protrusion is configured, by rotation of the locking screw, to pass through the outer hole and press the fixing pin toward the inner tubular bar so as to release locking, thereby allowing the inner tubular bar and the outer tubular bar to slide relative to each other upon unlocking. 
     
     
         5 . The support of  claim 2 , wherein the head has a width at least three times greater than the through-hole. 
     
     
         6 . The support of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the inner hole comprises a first inner hole and a second inner hole disposed to be spaced apart and opposite to each other;   the outer hole comprises a first outer hole and a second outer hole disposed to be spaced apart and opposite to each other;   the first inner hole and the second inner hole are formed to penetrate through opposite surfaces of the inner tubular bar, and the first outer hole and the second outer hole are formed to penetrate through opposite surfaces of the outer tubular bar so as to correspond to the first and second inner holes, respectively; and   the locking mechanism comprises a first fixing pin inserted into the first inner hole, a second fixing pin inserted into the second inner hole, and an elastic member connecting the first fixing pin and the second fixing pin,   wherein the first and second fixing pins protruding outward from the first and second inner holes, respectively, are inserted into the first and second outer holes so as to restrict relative movement between the inner tubular bar and the outer tubular bar.   
     
     
         7 . The support of  claim 6 , wherein the elastic member is a U-shaped or V-shaped metal elastic body, and the first fixing pin and the second fixing pin are formed symmetrically at opposite ends of the U-shaped or V-shaped elastic member.
