What is claimed is:

1 . A lower leg protective device comprising:
a top cover positioned over a shin region and extending in a vertical direction, the top cover comprising a padded portion formed of an impact-absorbing material to dissipate forces from blows encountered during contact sports; a side cover connected to the top cover, wherein the first side cover is configured to extend in the vertical direction over a first side region; a second side cover configured on an opposite side from the first side cover, wherein the second side cover is connected to the top cover, and configured to cover a second side region; and a back cover connected to the first side cover and the second side cover, the back cover extending over a calf region and comprising a padded insert configured to absorb impact forces.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein an elastic portion of the back cover extends in the vertical direction.

3 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising: a bottom cover configured over an ankle region.

4 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a lower cover configured underneath the back cover, wherein the lower cover is positioned in contact with the back cover.

5 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a bottom cover extending over an ankle region, wherein the bottom cover is connected to the first side cover.

6 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a lower cover positioned underneath the back cover, wherein the lower cover extends over
       a heel region.

7 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a bottom cover connected to a lower cover, and configured underneath the top cover and back cover.

8 . A lower leg protective device comprising:
a bottom cover configured to extend horizontally over an ankle region, the bottom cover including a padded insert formed of an impact-absorbing material to reduce forces from blows to the ankle; a lower cover connected to the bottom cover, and configured to extend vertically over a heel region, the lower cover including a padded portion configured to protect the heel during contact sports; a back cover connected to the lower cover, and configured to extend vertically over the lower cover, the back cover including an elastic portion configured to maintain the padded insert in alignment with the calf region of the user's leg; and a front cover positioned on a side opposite to the back cover, wherein the front cover is configured to extend vertically over the bottom cover, the front cover including a padded portion positioned over a shin region to absorb impact forces.

9 . The device of claim 8 , further comprising:
a side cover positioned in contact with the front cover and adjacent to a shin region.

10 . The device method of claim 8 , wherein the back cover extends in a vertical direction over a calf region.

11 . The device of claim 8 , further comprising:
a side cover positioned in contact with the back cover and adjacent to a calf region.

12 . The device of claim 8 , wherein an elastic portion of the front cover extends vertically over a shin region.

13 . The device of claim 8 , further comprising:
a side cover positioned between the front cover and the back cover and configured above the bottom cover.

14 . The device of claim 8 , further comprising:
a plurality of side covers positioned between the front cover and the back cover.

15 . A lower leg protective device comprising:
a front cover positioned vertically over a shin region, the front cover including a padded insert formed of foam to reduce impact forces; a bottom cover positioned underneath the front cover, and connected to the front cover, wherein the bottom cover extends horizontally over an ankle region, the bottom cover including a padded portion to protect the ankle during sports play; a lower cover connected to the bottom cover, and configured to extend vertically over a heel region, the lower cover comprising a padded insert to protect the heel from impact; and a back cover configured over the bottom cover, and configured to extend over a calf region, the back cover including padding configured to absorb blows during contact sports.

16 . The device of claim 15 , wherein the back cover extends over the calf region directly behind the front cover.

17 . The device of claim 15 , further comprising: a padded insert configured within the front cover over the shin region.

18 . The device of claim 15 , further comprising: a side cover extending vertically between the shin region and calf region.

19 . The device of claim 15 , further comprising: a padded insert configured within the lower cover and extending over the heel region.
