Abstract

A telescoping device mount is configured to hold an electronic device. The telescoping device mount is configured to fully extend or fully retract the electronic device. The telescoping device mount includes a telescoping post, a mount segment, and a base. The telescoping post includes an inner post segment and an outer post segment. The mount segment is configured to secure an electronic device thereto. The mount segment includes an outer collar slidably securable to the outer post segment of the telescoping post. The base is secured to the inner post segment such that the outer post segment telescopes relative to the inner post segment. In a fully retracted position, the electronic device is proximate to the base and/or an underlying surface.

Claims

WE CLAIM:

1 . A collar lock assembly for a mount segment of a telescoping post, the collar lock assembly comprising:
a collar lock body slidably receiving an outer post segment of the telescoping post; a first lock segment and a second lock segment mounted to the collar lock body and laterally spaced from one another; and a fastener extending between the first lock segment and the second lock segment, wherein a yoke is secured to the collar lock body.

2 . The collar lock assembly of claim 1 , wherein the yoke includes a support wall, a first protrusion extending from a first end of the support wall, and a second protrusion extending from a second end of the support wall.

3 . The collar lock assembly of claim 2 , wherein the support wall and each of the first and second protrusions meet at a beveled intersection, and wherein at least one of the first and second protrusions includes an arcuate bevel at a distal end.

4 . The collar lock assembly of claim 1 , wherein the fastener includes a head, a shank, and a threaded segment.

5 . The collar lock assembly of claim 4 , wherein the shank extends from the head and passes through the first lock segment and the second lock segment into a fastener recess.

6 . The collar lock assembly of claim 5 , wherein tightening the fastener draws the first lock segment and the second lock segment toward one another.

7 . The collar lock assembly of claim 1 , wherein the collar lock body includes one or more bearings that assist the collar lock body in sliding along or rotating relative to the outer post segment.

8 . The collar lock assembly of claim 7 , wherein the collar lock body includes a linear bearing disposed on an interior surface of the collar lock body above a locking bearing, and wherein the locking bearing is disposed within the first lock segment and the second lock segment.

9 . A mount assembly for a telescoping post, the mount assembly comprising:
a collar lock body; a first yoke, including a support wall, a first protrusion, a second protrusion, and an angular spacer; and an intermediary plate, wherein the angular spacer comprises a brace and a reinforcing wall, wherein the brace is secured to the intermediary plate, and wherein the intermediary plate is secured to the collar lock body.

10 . The mount assembly for a telescoping post of claim 9 , wherein the collar lock body slidably receives an outer post segment of the telescoping post.

11 . The mount assembly for a telescoping post of claim 10 , wherein the outer post segment includes an upper cap disposed atop the outer post segment.

12 . The mount assembly for a telescoping post of claim 10 , wherein the outer post segment telescopes over an inner post segment of the telescoping post.

13 . The mount assembly of claim 9 , wherein the collar lock body supports a first lock segment and a second lock segment disposed on opposite sides of the collar lock body.

14 . The mount assembly of claim 13 , wherein each of the first and second lock segments is pivotably attached to the collar lock body.

15 . The mount assembly of claim 13 , wherein the first lock segment and the second lock segment are laterally spaced from one another.

16 . The mount assembly of claim 13 , wherein a fastener extends between the first lock segment and the second lock segment.

17 . The mount assembly of claim 16 , wherein tightening the fastener draws the first lock segment and the second lock segment toward one another.

18 . The mount assembly of claim 9 , wherein the collar lock body includes a linear bearing disposed on an interior surface of the collar lock body.

19 . The mount assembly of claim 18 , wherein the collar lock body further includes a locking bearing disposed within each of the first and second lock segments.

20 . The mount assembly of claim 9 , further comprising a second yoke including a support wall and two linear spacers extending from the support wall, each of the two linear spacers secured to the intermediary plate.
