Abstract
A user-interface for an in-event performance evaluation, where evaluation stages are predefined. The user-interface can be configured to be dynamic and configurable, to enable capture and processing of tens, if not hundreds of information items in seconds, reflecting execution intervals of an event. Dynamic aspects and elements enable data to be captured to reflect real-world performance metrics, where such data can be published, shared or otherwise used in real-time.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A user interface device for evaluating players during a game, the user interface device comprising:
one or more processors; memory to store instructions; wherein the one or more processors execute instructions stored in memory to perform operations comprising: providing, on a display screen of a computing device, a graphical user interface for a user to record parametric information about a performance of a quarterback in course of a play being executed during a game, the performance of each play call including multiple stages, each of the multiple stages corresponding to an interval of time that coincides with execution of a play during the game, the multiple stages including (i) a pre-snap stage, coinciding with a time interval before a play execution trigger, but when the game is live; (ii) a pre-release stage, coinciding with a time interval after the play execution trigger, during which the quarterback hiked the ball; (iii) a pass attempt stage, coinciding with a time interval during which the quarterback either directs the ball to another player or attempts to advance the ball; and (iv) late moment stage, coinciding with a time interval when the quarterback or a player other than the quarterback has the ball at a time where the executed play ends; wherein the graphical user interface includes a plurality of regions and a plurality of interactive feature set, each region of the plurality of regions occupying a corresponding portion of the display screen, and including a corresponding interactive feature set of the plurality of interactive features for recording parametric information of the quarterback's performance during one of the multiple stages; wherein the plurality of regions include: a field zone region to record parametric information about quarterback pass attempts during the play executions, the throw placement region including multiple interactive features which are spatially arranged to graphically represent zones of a field of play, wherein the graphically represented zones of the field of play include a short zone, a middle zone, and a long zone, wherein each of these zones are further divided into sub-zones which include a left zone, center zone, and a right zone; and wherein the plurality of interactive features includes one or more features that are selectable to reflect whether a pass attempt of a play execution is complete, incomplete, or intercepted.
2 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the interactive panel features of the field zone region are selectable to enable the user to record the sub-zone of the graphically represented zone targeted by the quarterback when the quarterback attempts a pass during the play execution.
3 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein a region of the plurality of regions includes at least one interactive feature set configured to record parametric information about the quarterback's footwork.
4 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein a region of the plurality of regions includes at least one interactive feature set configured to record parametric information about the quarterback's rhythm.
5 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein a region of the plurality of regions includes at least one interactive feature set configured to record parametric information about the quarterback's route progression read.
6 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein a region of the plurality of regions includes a region including at least one interactive feature set configured to record parametric information about the quarterback's throw type.
7 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein at least one feature of the plurality of interactive features includes an interactive panel which is configured to initiate a timer that is graphically displayed via the graphical user interface.
8 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:
automatically determining, based on the recorded parametric information, a set of performance metrics reflecting the performance of the quarterback during the play execution.
9 . The computing device of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:
recording, in aggregate, the performance metrics reflecting the performance of the quarterback during the play execution according to tabulated sections.
10 . The computing device of claim 9 , wherein the recorded aggregation of the performance metrics of the quarterback during the play execution is published in a report.
11 . The computing device of claim 10 , wherein the operations further comprise:
based in part on historical parametric information for a corresponding quarterback, graphically indicate a corresponding plurality of historical performance metric information via the graphical user interface, wherein at least one historical performance metric is graphically displayed within an interactive panel of a region of the plurality of regions corresponding to the stage that the historical parametric information used to determine the historical performance metric was indicated in by the user.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
