Abstract

A holster for a virtual reality controller includes: a shaped receiving cup, a belt connector, and a spacer between the shaped receiving cup and the belt connector. The shaped receiving cup supports the virtual reality controller, and includes a recessed portion reflecting a shape of at least a bottom portion of the virtual reality controller. A holster belt assembly includes one or more of the holsters couplable to a belt.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A holster for a virtual reality controller comprising:
 a shaped receiving cup;   a belt connector; and   a spacer between the shaped receiving cup and the belt connector;   wherein the shaped receiving cup is configured to support the virtual reality controller; and   wherein the shaped receiving cup comprises a recessed portion reflecting a shape of at least a bottom portion of the virtual reality controller.   
     
     
         2 . The holster according to  claim 1 , further comprising a pad connected to the belt connector. 
     
     
         3 . The holster according to  claim 1 , further comprising a hook. 
     
     
         4 . The holster according to  claim 1 , wherein the spacer has a length separating the shaped receiving cup and the belt connector. 
     
     
         5 . The holster according to  claim 4 , wherein the length of the spacer is adjustable. 
     
     
         6 . The holster according to  claim 1 , wherein the spacer comprises an angled face upon which the shaped receiving cup is mounted. 
     
     
         7 . The holster according to  claim 6 , wherein an orientation angled face is adjustable. 
     
     
         8 . The holster according to  claim 1 , wherein the shaped receiving cup further comprises a slot on a side of the shaped connector cup. 
     
     
         9 . The holster according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein the shaped receiving cup further comprises a hole which is located on a bottom region of the shaped receiving cup; and   wherein the hole is contiguous with the slot.   
     
     
         10 . The holster according to  claim 1 , further comprising a textured region on the bottom portion of the shaped receiving cup. 
     
     
         11 . The holster according to  claim 1 , wherein the shaped connector cup further comprises an interior ridge shaped to receive at least a portion of a button of the virtual reality controller. 
     
     
         12 . The holster according to  claim 1 , wherein the belt connector is a clip. 
     
     
         13 . The holster according to  claim 1 , wherein a pad is mounted between the belt connector and the shaped receiving cup. 
     
     
         14 . The holster according to  claim 1 , wherein the belt connector is a belt loop. 
     
     
         15 . The holster according to  claim 1 , wherein the shaped receiving cup has a longer side and a shorter side along a receiving cup axis. 
     
     
         16 . The holster according to  claim 15 , wherein a hook is located on an outside of the shorter side of the shaped receiving cup. 
     
     
         17 . A holster belt assembly for a virtual reality controller comprising:
 a belt; and   one or more of the holsters according to  claim 1 .   
     
     
         18 . The holster belt assembly according to  claim 16 , wherein the belt further comprises a belt fastener. 
     
     
         19 . The holster belt assembly according to  claim 16 , wherein the holsters are movable along a length of the belt. 
     
     
         20 . A holster belt assembly for virtual reality controllers comprising:
 a belt; and   two holsters couplable to the belt;   the two holsters each including:
 a shaped receiving cup configured to support the virtual reality controller; 
 a belt connector configured to removably connect the shaped receiving cup to the belt; 
 a cup connector configured to couple the shaped receiving cup and the belt connector; and 
 a hook configured to support a strap coupled to the virtual reality controllers 
   wherein the shaped receiving cup is molded to reflect the shape of at least a bottom portion of the virtual reality controller;   wherein the shaped receiving cup further includes a slot configured to receive the strap during insertion of the virtual reality controller into the shaped receiving cup;   wherein the shaped receiving cup is configured to be angled such that a user can insert the virtual reality controller into the shaped receiving cup and remove the virtual reality controller from the shaped receiving cup while the user is wearing the holster belt assembly;   wherein ends of the belt are configured to be removably fastened to each other; and   wherein the cup connector is configured to couple the shaped connector cup to the belt connector at a suitable distance such that the user can grasp the virtual reality controller while the user is wearing the holster belt assembly and while the virtual reality controllers are in the shaped receiving cups.
