Abstract
A modular firearm lower receiver assembly for rapid conversion of conventionally configured modular firearms to a bullpup configuration and the method of assembly thereof.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 - 2 . (canceled)
3 . A system for bull-pup configuration, comprising:
a lower receiver; a lower receiver bull-pup interface having a pistol grip and trigger guard configured to be interlocked to an upper receiver assembly of a firearm, the lower receiver bull-pup interface having a forward end, a rear end, and a channel therebetween for accepting the upper receiver assembly, the rear end of the bull-pup interface having opposing upperwardly facing hook portions configured to overlap pivot pin apertures of the lower receiver and to accept a pivot pin; a trigger relocation assembly configured to be coupled between a trigger of the lower receiver and a trigger of the bull-pup interface; and a recoil buffer and recoil spring of the lower receiver, configured to be interfaced to the firearm.
4 . The system of claim 3 wherein the lower receiver houses a fire control unit.
5 . The system of claim 3 wherein the lower receiver further comprises an ammunition magazine well.
6 . The system of claim 3 wherein the lower receiver further comprises captured receiver pins.
7 . The system of claim 3 wherein the trigger relocation assembly comprises a levered trigger linkage system.
8 . The system of claim 3 wherein the trigger relocation assembly is configured to activate a levered trigger.
9 . The system of claim 3 wherein the trigger relocation assembly is configured to activate a levered trigger in a fire control unit.
10 . A system for converting a rifle assembly to a bull-pup configuration, comprising:
a lower receiver housing a fire control unit and having an ammunition magazine well; a lower receiver bull-pup interface having a pistol grip and trigger guard configured to be interlocked to an upper receiver assembly of a firearm, the lower receiver bull-pup interface having a forward end, a rear end, and a channel therebetween for accepting the upper receiver assembly, the rear end of the bull-pup interface having opposing upperwardly facing hook portions configured to overlap pivot pin apertures of the lower receiver and to accept a pivot pin; a trigger relocation assembly configured to be coupled between a trigger of the lower receiver and a trigger of the bull-pup interface; and a recoil buffer and recoil spring of the lower receiver configured to be interfaced to the firearm.
11 . The system of claim 10 wherein the lower receiver further comprises captured receiver pins.
12 . The system of claim 10 wherein the trigger relocation assembly comprises a levered trigger linkage system.
13 . The system of claim 10 wherein the trigger relocation assembly is configured to activate a levered trigger.
14 . The system of claim 10 wherein the trigger relocation assembly is configured to activate a levered trigger in a fire control unit.
15 . A system for converting a rifle assembly to a bull-pup configuration, comprising:
a lower receiver housing a fire control unit and having captured receiver pins; a lower receiver bull-pup interface having a pistol grip and trigger guard, configured to be interlocked to an upper receiver assembly of a firearm, the lower receiver bull-pup interface having a forward end, a rear end, and a channel therebetween for accepting the upper receiver assembly, the rear end of the bull-pup interface having opposing upperwardly facing hook portions configured to overlap pivot pin apertures of the lower receiver and to accept a pivot pin; a trigger relocation assembly configured to be coupled between a trigger of the lower receiver and a trigger of the bull-pup interface; and a recoil buffer and recoil spring of the lower receiver configured to be interfaced to the firearm.
16 . The system of claim 15 wherein the lower receiver has an ammunition magazine well.
17 . The system of claim 15 wherein the lower receiver further comprises an ammunition magazine well.
18 . The system of claim 15 wherein the trigger relocation assembly comprises a levered trigger linkage system.
19 . The system of claim 15 wherein the trigger relocation assembly is configured to activate a levered trigger.
20 . The system of claim 15 wherein the trigger relocation assembly is configured to activate a levered trigger in a fire control unit.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
