Watercraft Oil-Siphoning Device
Abstract
A watercraft oil-siphoning device is provided. The device is comprised of a collection attachment that mimics the form and function of an oil filter. The attachment interfaces with the oil filter mounting area using a threaded fastener for a secure connection. A second end of the attachment includes a fastener that accommodates various tubing connectors. Tubing attaches to this fastener through compatible connectors, allowing flexibility in connector types and incorporating a one-way valve to prevent backflow during oil removal. The tubing's other end connects to a cap using a fastener, with the cap sealingly engaging with a container to collect the siphoned oil. The container, made of materials like HDPE or stainless steel, includes a handle for easy handling. The method of use involves sequentially connecting the device components and activating the watercraft to siphon oil through the system for clean and efficient collection.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A watercraft oil-siphoning device comprising:
a collection attachment comprised of a first end with a first fastener configured to attach to an oil filter mounting area of a watercraft and a second end comprised of a second fastener; a tubing having a first end and a second end, the first end of the tubing being attached to the second fastener of the second end of the collection attachment via a third fastener; a cap comprised of a secondary fastener configured to engage with a fourth fastener of the second end of the tubing; and a container having a spout, the cap being configured to attach to the threaded spout of the container.
2 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 1 , wherein the first fastener is comprised of a male thread or a female thread.
3 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 1 , wherein the second fastener is comprised of a threaded connector or a quick connector.
4 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 1 , wherein the third fastener is comprised of a threaded connector or a quick connector.
5 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 1 , wherein the fourth fastener is comprised of a threaded connector or a quick connector.
6 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 1 , wherein the tubing is comprised of a one-way valve.
7 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 5 , wherein the one-way valve is comprised of a check valve or a ball valve.
8 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 1 , wherein the cap is comprised of a fourth fastener comprised of a male thread or a female thread.
9 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 1 , wherein the container is transparent or translucent.
10 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 1 , wherein the container is comprised of a handle.
11 . A watercraft oil-siphoning device comprising:
a collection attachment comprised of a first end with a first fastener configured to attach to an oil filter mounting area of a watercraft and a second end comprised of a second fastener; a tubing having a first end and a second end, the first end of the tubing being attached to the second fastener of the second end of the collection attachment via a third fastener; a one-way valve; a cap comprised of a secondary fastener configured to engage with a fourth fastener of the second end of the tubing; and a container having a threaded spout, the cap being configured to attach to the threaded spout of the container.
12 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 11 , wherein the one-way valve is positioned on the tubing.
13 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 11 , wherein the second fastener is comprised of a quick connect fastener.
14 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 11 , wherein the third fastener is comprised of a quick connect fastener.
15 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 11 , wherein the fourth fastener is comprised of a quick connect fastener.
16 . The watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 11 , wherein the container is comprised of an HDPE material.
17 . A method of using a watercraft oil-siphoning device, the method comprising the following steps:
a collection attachment that attaches to a tubing, wherein the tubing attaches to a container; attaching the collection attachment to an oil filter mounting area of the watercraft using a first fastener of the collection attachment; attaching a first end of the tubing to a fastener of the collection attachment using a second fastener; attaching a third fastener of a second end of the tubing to a secondary fastener on a cap; securing the cap to a spout of the container via a fourth fastener on the cap; and operating the watercraft such that oil is siphoned through the collection attachment, through the tubing, and into the container.
18 . The method of using a watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 17 , wherein the tubing is comprised of a one-way valve.
19 . The method of using a watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 17 , wherein the spout is comprised of a threaded spout.
20 . The method of using a watercraft oil-siphoning device of claim 17 , wherein the first fastener is comprised of a threaded fastener.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
