Abstract
Examples golf bags with leg retention assemblies are generally described herein. In one example, a golf bag includes a body portion and at least one leg coupled to the body portion. A foot portion is coupled to the at least one leg and includes a housing having an opening at a top end and an opening at a bottom end. An insert is received in the housing via the opening at the bottom end of the housing. A leg retention portion is configured to releasably secure the at least one leg in a retracted position against the body portion. Other examples may be described and claimed.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A golf bag comprising:
a body portion comprising a body retention portion; at least one leg coupled to the body portion and moveable between a first position adjacent the body portion and a second position away from the body portion; and a foot portion coupled to the at least one leg, the foot portion comprising:
a housing comprising:
a first compartment configured to receive an end portion of the at least one leg; and
a second compartment separated from the first compartment;
an insert received in the second compartment; and
a leg retention portion coupled to the insert, the leg retention portion configured to magnetically couple with the body retention portion to releasably secure the at least one leg in the first position.
2 . A golf bag as defined in claim 1 , wherein the body retention portion is located inside or outside the body portion.
3 . A golf bag as defined in claim 1 , wherein the end portion of the at least one leg is received in the first compartment via a first opening, and wherein the insert is received in the second compartment via a second opening located opposite the first opening.
4 . A golf bag as defined in claim 1 , wherein the insert comprises a cavity, and wherein the leg retention portion is disposed in the cavity.
5 . A golf bag as defined in claim 1 , wherein the housing comprises a material having greater rigidity than a material of the insert.
6 . A golf bag as defined in claim 1 , wherein a portion of the insert protrudes from the housing to define an exterior surface of the foot portion.
7 . A golf bag as defined in claim 1 , wherein at least one of the body retention portion and the leg retention portion comprises a magnet.
8 . A golf bag comprising:
a body portion; at least one leg moveably coupled to the body portion; and a foot portion coupled to the at least one leg, the foot portion comprising:
a housing comprising a bottom end having an opening;
an insert received in the housing via the opening at the bottom end of the housing; and
a leg retention portion configured to releasably secure the at least one leg in a retracted position against the body portion.
9 . A golf bag as defined in claim 8 , wherein the housing comprises a top end having an opening, and wherein an end portion of the at least one leg is received in the housing via the opening at the top end of the housing.
10 . A golf bag as defined in claim 8 , wherein a portion of the insert protrudes from the housing to define a sole of the foot portion.
11 . A golf bag as defined in claim 8 , wherein the housing comprises a rigid material and the insert comprises an elastic material.
12 . A golf bag as defined in claim 8 , wherein the leg retention portion comprises a magnet at least partially contained in the insert.
13 . A golf bag as defined in claim 8 , wherein the foot portion is attached to the at least one leg via at least one of a mechanical fastener and an adhesive.
14 . A golf bag comprising:
a body portion; at least one leg coupled to the body portion; and a foot portion coupled to the at least one leg, the foot portion comprising:
a housing;
an insert at least partially received inside the housing; and
a leg retention portion for releasably securing the at least one leg to the body portion, wherein the insert defines an exterior surface of the foot portion.
15 . A golf bag as defined in claim 14 , wherein the exterior surface forms a sole of the foot portion.
16 . A golf bag as defined in claim 14 , wherein the exterior surface is textured.
17 . A golf bag as defined in claim 14 , wherein the housing has a rigidity that is different from a rigidity of the insert.
18 . A golf bag as defined in claim 14 , wherein the insert is flush with or protrudes from the housing.
19 . A golf bag as defined in claim 14 , wherein the insert comprises a side cavity, and wherein the leg retention portion comprises a magnet disposed in the side cavity of the insert.
20 . A golf bag as defined in claim 14 , wherein the insert comprises an elastic material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
