Abstract
A system and method for securing a brick to a wall, including attaching a panel to the wall, the panel having: (a) a repetitive pattern of aligned peaks and valleys; and (b) a series of ledges associated with the valleys and configured such that at least a portion of each ledge extends beyond adjacent peaks of the aligned peaks and valleys. A tension clip is attached to a first ledge on the panel. The brick is secured to the panel by compressing the tension clip downward with the bottom of the brick, wherein the compressed tension clip forces the brick upward into secure engagement with an upwardly adjacent ledge.

1 . A system for supporting a construction product, comprising:
a panel having a repetitive pattern of aligned peaks and valleys, wherein the panel is attachable to a wall with at least one fastener inserted through one or more of the valleys; a series of ledges associated with the valleys and configured such that at least a portion of each ledge extends beyond adjacent peaks of the aligned peaks and valleys, wherein each ledge is associated with a ledge slot in the valley from which the ledge was formed; and a plurality of tension clips, wherein each tension clip is attachable to a ledge and is further configured to support the construction product.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein each tension clip compresses under the weight of the construction product, wherein the compressed tension clip forces the construction product into secure engagement with an upwardly adjacent ledge associated with the same valley.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the construction product is secured to at least one peak using a construction adhesive.
4 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a plurality of first fluid paths defined by spaces between the peaks and the wall; and a plurality of second fluid paths defined by spaces between the valleys and the commercial product.
5 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of third fluid paths defined by a plurality of the ledge slots.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the construction product comprises brick.
7 . A method for securing a brick to a wall, comprising:
attaching a panel to the wall, wherein the panel comprises: (a) a repetitive pattern of aligned peaks and valleys; and (b) a series of ledges associated with the valleys and configured such that at least a portion of each ledge extends beyond adjacent peaks of the aligned peaks and valleys; attaching a first tension clip to a first ledge; securing the brick to the panel by compressing the tension clip downward with the bottom of the brick, wherein the compressed tension clip forces the brick upward into secure engagement with an upwardly adjacent ledge.
8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising securing the brick to a peak adjacent to the ledge using an adhesive.
9 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising attaching a second tension clip to a second ledge adjacent to the first tension clip; securing a second brick to the panel by compressing the second tension clip downward with the bottom of the second brick, wherein the compressed second tension clip forces the second brick upward into secure engagement with an upwardly adjacent ledge.
10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising applying mortar between the first brick and the second brick.
11 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising repeating the steps of claim 9 to secure an additional plurality of bricks, wherein the total secured bricks form a brick wall.
