Abstract

The present invention relates to an anti-slip toilet seat apparatus that is securely mounted on a toilet bowl rim. The toilet seat apparatus comprises a seat body having an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter, an inner extension projecting downward from the inner perimeter, and an outer extension projecting downward from the outer perimeter. The inner extension engages an internal surface of the rim while the outer extension cradles an external surface, thereby providing a dual locking effect that restricts inward, outward, and lateral displacement. The extensions are integrally molded with the seat body from high-strength thermoplastic material to provide permanent passive stability without supplemental adhesives. The toilet seat apparatus is compatible with round, elongated, square, and U-shaped toilet bowl geometries, and is designed to enhance safety and accessibility for children, elderly individuals, and users with disabilities.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
The claimed invention is:

1 . An anti-slip toilet seat apparatus for secure mounting on a toilet bowl rim, comprising:
a toilet seat having an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter; an inner extension projecting downwardly from said inner perimeter of said toilet seat, wherein said inner extension is configured to mechanically engage with an inner surface of said toilet bowl rim; and an outer extension projecting downwardly from said outer perimeter of said toilet seat, wherein said outer extension is configured to mechanically engage with an outer surface of said toilet bowl rim, wherein said inner extension and said outer extension are configured to restrict lateral movement of said toilet seat relative to said toilet bowl rim, thereby preventing slippage during use.

2 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said seat body is shaped as an elongated toilet seat configured to conform to a circular toilet bowl rim.

3 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said seat body is shaped as a round toilet seat configured to conform to the circular toilet bowl rim.

4 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said seat body is shaped as a square toilet seat configured to conform to a square toilet bowl rim.

5 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said seat body is shaped as a U-shaped toilet seat having a frontal opening, configured to conform to a U-shaped toilet bowl rim.

6 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said anti-slip toilet seat apparatus comprises a hinge assembly that is attached to said toilet seat for pivotally mounting said anti-slip toilet seat apparatus to said toilet bowl rim.

7 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said anti-slip toilet seat apparatus comprises a seat cover that is pivotally connected to said toilet seat via said hinge assembly, wherein said seat cover is movable between a closed position for covering said toilet seat and an open position for exposing said toilet seat.

8 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said inner extension and said outer extension are integrally formed with said toilet seat as a unitary molded structure.

9 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said anti-slip toilet seat apparatus comprises a tightening assembly that is configured to fasten said anti-slip toilet seat apparatus to said toilet bowl rim for enhanced stability.

10 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein at least one of said inner extension or said outer extension comprises a grip-enhancing feature selected from a micro-texturing, molded ridges, and elastomeric pads, thereby improving frictional engagement with said toilet bowl rim.

11 . The anti-slip toilet seat apparatus of claim 1 , wherein said toilet seat ergonomically configured to enhance safety for children, elderly users, and individuals with physical disabilities, and is compliant with accessibility principles consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

12 . An elongated toilet seat for secure mounting on a toilet bowl rim, comprising:
a seat body having an upper sitting surface, an inner perimeter, and an outer perimeter; an inner extension projecting downwardly from said inner perimeter of said seat body, wherein said inner extension is configured to closely trace and engage with an internal contour of said toilet bowl rim to prevent inward displacement; and an outer extension projecting downwardly from said outer perimeter of said seat body, wherein said outer extension is configured to cradle and engage with an external contour of said toilet bowl rim to resist outward and lateral displacement, wherein said inner extension and said outer extension are integrally molded with said seat body from a high-strength thermoplastic material and provide passive anti-slip functionality to restrict relative movement of said seat body in lateral directions during use.

13 . The elongated toilet seat of claim 12 , wherein said upper sitting surface is ergonomically contoured with a concavity to improve user comfort.

14 . The elongated toilet seat of claim 12 , wherein said elongated toilet seat comprises mounting apertures spaced apart to receive a hinge assembly for pivotally connecting said seat body to said toilet bowl rim.

15 . The elongated toilet seat of claim 12 , wherein said high-strength thermoplastic material comprises at least one of a polypropylene material and a polycarbonate material.

16 . The elongated toilet seat of claim 12 , wherein at least one of said inner extension or said outer extension comprises a grip-enhancing feature selected from a micro-texturing, molded ridges, and elastomeric pads, thereby improving frictional engagement with said toilet bowl rim.

17 . The elongated toilet seat of claim 12 , wherein said seat body is configured to withstand loads of at least 500 N without permanent deformation.
