Abstract

Kits for replacing the ejector of a shotgun include an ejector spring and a base member, where the base member is designed and adapted to be affixed to the interior surface of the receiver of the shotgun, and further to engage the ejector spring in a cantilevered tongue-and-groove (TAG) configuration. TAG ejector kits, TAG ejector assemblies, and TAG ejectors are suitably configured for operation in conjunction with pump action shotguns.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A kit for forming a shotgun ejector, the kit comprising an ejector spring and a base member, the ejector spring and base member adapted and configured to engage to form an assembly, the assembly adapted and configured to be affixed to an interior surface of a shotgun receiver to form an ejector; wherein the ejector comprises a tongue-and-groove configuration and the assembly excludes a tongue-and-groove configuration.

. The kit of claim 1 wherein the ejector spring consists of spring steel.

. The kit of claim 1 wherein the ejector spring excludes holes defined therethrough.

. The kit of claim 1 wherein the base member defines first and second fastener holes adapted and configured for affixing the base member to the interior surface of the shotgun receiver by engaging first and second fasteners therewith through the receiver of the shotgun.

. The kit of claim 4 further comprising first and second fasteners adapted to extend through the receiver of the shotgun to engage with the first and second fastener holes.

. The kit of claim 5 wherein the first and second fasteners are rivets.

. The kit of claim 5 wherein the first and second fasteners are screws, and the first and second fastener holes are threaded holes.

. The kit of claim 7 wherein the screws are cap head screws or flat head screws, optionally wherein the screw heads are painted or finished by Parkerizing or bluing.

. The kit of claim 7 wherein first and second fasteners are adapted and configured to obtain a flush disposition with respect to the base member when the assembly is affixed.

. An ejector assembly for affixing to the interior surface of a shotgun receiver, the ejector assembly comprising an ejector spring engaged with a base member, wherein the ejector assembly does not have a tongue-and-groove configuration, but obtains a tongue-and-groove configuration when affixed.

. The ejector assembly of claim 10 , wherein the ejector spring contacts the interior surface of the shotgun receiver when the ejector assembly is affixed.

. The ejector assembly of claim 10 wherein the ejector assembly is adapted and configured to be affixed by screws or rivets.

. A kit for forming a shotgun ejector, the kit comprising an ejector spring and a base member adapted and configured to be engaged to form an ejector assembly, the base member having first major base side, second major base side, first base end, and second base end; wherein the second major base side defines a plurality of steps extending from the first base end to the second base end, the steps configured and adapted to enable touching relationship between the second major base side and a curved interior receiver surface of a shotgun.

. The kit of claim 13 wherein the profile of the base member at first or second base end is not curved.

. The kit of claim 13 wherein the curved interior receiver surface describes a diameter corresponding to the size of the ammunition used in the shotgun.

. The kit of claim 15 wherein the diameter is selected from 10.4 mm, 14.0 mm, 15.6 mm, 16.8 mm, or 18.5 mm.

. The kit of claim 13 wherein the plurality of steps comprises three steps.

. The kit of claim 13 wherein the touching relationship obtains engagement of the ejector spring between the base member and the curved interior receiver surface.
