Claims

Abstract

A heat dissipation device includes a first casing and a second casing coupled to the first casing. The second casing includes a body having an inner surface and an outer surface opposite the inner surface, and a first portion and a second portion, each of the first and second portions having a different cross-sectional area. The heat dissipation device further includes a plurality of columns on the inner surface, and a first wick structure disposed on the inner surface and in the first portion and the second portion.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A heat dissipation device, comprising:
 a first casing having a heat source receiving area on an outer surface of the first casing;   a second casing coupled to the first casing, the second casing including:
 a body having an inner surface and an outer surface opposite the inner surface, a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion, each of the first and second portions having a same size of area, the third portion having an area that is smaller than either the area of the first or the area of second portions, and the third portion located between the first and second portions, a projection of the heat source receiving area is disposed in the first portion; and 
 a plurality of columns on the inner surface; and 
   a first wick structure disposed on the inner surface of the second casing and in at least two of the first, second, and third portions, wherein   the first wick structure is disposed in gaps between the plurality of columns and contacts the inner surface of the second casing, and   the first wick structure includes a first longitudinally extending portion and a second longitudinally extending portion, and the second longitudinally extending portion extends towards and overlaps with the projection of the heat source receiving area.   
     
     
         2 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 1 , wherein the first wick structure includes a first connection between the first longitudinally extending portion and the second longitudinally extending portion, and the first connection is disposed in the second portion. 
     
     
         3 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 a second wick structure disposed on the inner surface and includes a third longitudinally extending portion and a fourth longitudinally extending portion, a second connection between the third longitudinally extending portion and the four longitudinally extending portion is disposed in the second portion, and the second longitudinally extending portion extends towards and overlaps with the projection of the heat source receiving area.   
     
     
         4 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 3 , wherein the first connection and the second connection are both a 90 degree bend. 
     
     
         5 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 3 , wherein the first and second wick structures contact an edge of the heat dissipation device, and the edge of the heat dissipation device forms the second portions. 
     
     
         6 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 3 , wherein the first and second wick structures are spaced from an edge of the heat dissipation device, the edge of the heat dissipation device forms at least two of the first, second, and third portions. 
     
     
         7 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 1 , wherein the first wick structure is spaced from an edge of the heat dissipation device, the edge of the heat dissipation device forms at least two of the first, second, and third portions. 
     
     
         8 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 2 , wherein the first connection is disposed on a center of the first longitudinally extending portion. 
     
     
         9 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 2 , wherein the first wick structure further includes a third longitudinally extending portion, a second connection between the third longitudinally extending portion and the first longitudinally extending portion is disposed in the first portion. 
     
     
         10 . The head dissipation device of  claim 9 , wherein the first longitudinally extending portion is disposed in the first, second, and third portion. 
     
     
         11 . The head dissipation device of  claim 9 , wherein the third portion shares an edge of the heat dissipation device with the first and second portions. 
     
     
         12 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 9 , wherein an angle between the first longitudinally extending portion and the third longitudinally extending portion is equal to 90°. 
     
     
         13 . The heat dissipation device of  claim 1 , wherein an angle between the first longitudinally extending portion and the second longitudinally extending portion is equal to 90°.
