Abstract

A refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device is provided, configured to stabilize air conditioning refrigerant cylinders during HVAC servicing operations conducted on non-level surfaces. The device comprises a body with a flat upper surface for supporting the cylinder. A plurality of telescopic legs may be connected to the underside of a frame of the body, each comprising an independently operable locking mechanism to allow height adjustment. Each leg terminates in a foot designed to maintain contact with various ground types, with optional pivot joints to self-adjust based on terrain angle. The legs are attached to the frame via hinges that allow inward or outward rotation, with locking mechanisms to secure their angular positions. One or more integrated leveling instruments are provided on the platform to indicate when the surface is horizontally aligned.

Claims

What is claimed is:

         1 . A refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device comprising:
a body comprising a flat upper surface supported by a frame; a leg connected to the frame via a hinge, the leg comprised of a foot; and a level.

2 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 1 , wherein the flat upper surface is comprised of a friction-enhancing material.

3 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 1 , wherein the upper surface is comprised of a hole or a channel.

4 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 1 , wherein the frame is comprised of a raised perimeter edge that extends above the flat upper surface.

5 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 1 , wherein the foot is comprised of a flat foot, a dome-shaped foot, an angled foot, a spiked foot, or a hemispherical foot.

6 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 5 , wherein the foot is comprised of a texture.

7 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 1 further comprised of a handle.

8 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 1 , wherein the level is comprised of a bubble level, a digital inclinometer, or a spirit level.

         9 . A refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device comprising:
a body comprising a flat upper surface supported by a frame; a telescopic leg connected to the frame via a hinge, the leg comprised of a foot and a locking mechanism; and a level.

10 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 , wherein the foot is comprised of a flat foot, a dome-shaped foot, an angled foot, a spiked foot, or a hemispherical foot.

11 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 , wherein the foot is comprised of a pivot point.

12 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 , wherein the foot is comprised of a texture.

13 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 , wherein the hinge is comprised of a locking mechanism.

14 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 further comprised of a handle.

15 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 , wherein the level is comprised of a bubble level, a digital inclinometer, or a spirit level.

16 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 , wherein the flat upper surface is comprised of a friction-enhancing material.

17 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 , wherein the upper surface is comprised of a hole or a channel.

18 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 9 , wherein the frame is comprised of a raised perimeter edge that extends above the flat upper surface.

19 . The refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device of claim 16 , wherein the friction-enhancing material is comprised of a thermoplastic elastomer overlay, a vulcanized rubber sheet, a sand-textured polymer coating, a diamond-plate aluminum, a textured material, or an abrasive composite laminate.

20 . A method of using a refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device, the method comprising the following steps:
providing a refrigerant-cylinder leveling platform device comprised of a body comprised of a flat upper surface, a frame, and a leg comprising a first locking mechanism, a foot, a hinge with a second locking mechanism, and an integrated level; rotating the leg outward via the hinge and locking the hinge using the second locking mechanism; adjusting a length of the leg using the first locking mechanism to level the flat upper surface based on a feedback from the integrated level; and placing an air conditioning refrigerant cylinder on the flat upper surface while recharging.
