Abstract

A perforation pattern for packaging is provided with improved folding, bending, and separation of adjacent panels. The packaging that includes the perforation pattern may include a columns, rows, glue tabs, column scores, row scores, perforations, cuts, skips, and bundle breakers. Perforation patterns may be irregular, angled, shifted, or otherwise configured to increase usability, strength, and/or other aspects of the packaging.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A perforation pattern located at least partially between columns provided by packaging, the perforation pattern comprising:
 cuts comprising:
 a first cut having a first cut characteristic, and 
 a second cut having a second cut characteristic; 
   skips comprising:
 a first skip having a first skip characteristic, and 
 a second skip having a second skip characteristic; and 
   wherein the perforation pattern comprises a varied sequence of the cuts and the skips.   
     
     
         2 . The perforation pattern of  claim 1 , wherein the perforation pattern is applied to the packaging comprising panels arranged in the columns; and
 wherein the packaging is manipulable via at least partially separating the columns in a row via the perforation pattern.   
     
     
         3 . The perforation pattern of  claim 2 , wherein the columns further comprise:
 flaps substantially separated between the columns; and   wherein at least partially separating the columns in the row comprising multivariable panels transforms at least part of the panels of the row of the multivariable panels into the flaps.   
     
     
         4 . The perforation pattern of  claim 2 , wherein the panels are arranged in at least three columns. 
     
     
         5 . The perforation pattern of  claim 2 , wherein the panels are arranged in at least four columns. 
     
     
         6 . The perforation pattern of  claim 2 :
 wherein at least the first cut, the second cut, the first skip, and the second skip are arranged in at least a first perforation pattern and a second perforation pattern that differs from the first perforation pattern; and   wherein the panels comprise:
 a first panel configuration having the first perforation pattern applied, and 
 a second panel configuration having the second perforation pattern applied. 
   
     
     
         7 . The perforation pattern of  claim 6 , wherein the panels comprise:
 a first row of the panels associated with the first perforation pattern; and   a second row of the panels associated with the second perforation pattern.   
     
     
         8 . The perforation pattern of  claim 1 , wherein at least the first cut, the second cut, the first skip, and the second skip are arranged in at least a first perforation pattern and a second perforation pattern that differs from the first perforation pattern by being angled and shifted. 
     
     
         9 . The perforation pattern of  claim 8 , wherein the cuts further comprise:
 a third cut having a third cut characteristic.   
     
     
         10 . The perforation pattern of  claim 9 , wherein the cuts further comprise:
 a fourth cut having a fourth cut characteristic.   
     
     
         11 . The perforation pattern of  claim 1 , wherein the second cut characteristic is angularly oriented differently from the first cut characteristic. 
     
     
         12 . The perforation pattern of  claim 1 , wherein the varied sequence of the cuts and the skips is at least partially irregular. 
     
     
         13 . The perforation pattern of  claim 1 , further comprising a pinhole. 
     
     
         14 . The perforation pattern of  claim 1 , further comprising a nick. 
     
     
         15 . The perforation pattern of  claim 1 , wherein at least part of the perforation pattern is angled. 
     
     
         16 . The packaging of  claim 1 :
 wherein the first cut characteristic is defined by a first cut length;   wherein the second cut characteristic is defined by a second cut length that is different than the first cut length;   wherein the first skip is defined by a first skip length; and   wherein the second skip is defined by a second skip length that is different from the first skip length.   
     
     
         17 . A perforation pattern for packaging comprising:
 cuts comprising:
 a first cut having a first cut characteristic, 
 a second cut having a second cut characteristic, and 
 a third cut having a third cut characteristic; 
   skips comprising:
 a first skip having a first skip characteristic, and 
 a second skip having a second skip characteristic; and 
   wherein the perforation pattern comprises a sequence of the cuts and the skips.   
     
     
         18 . The perforation pattern of  claim 17 , wherein at least the first cut, the second cut, the third cut, the first skip, and the second skip are arranged in at least a first perforation pattern and a second perforation pattern that differs from the first perforation pattern by being angled. 
     
     
         19 . The perforation pattern of  claim 17 , wherein at least the first cut, the second cut, the third cut, the first skip, and the second skip are arranged in at least a first perforation pattern and a second perforation pattern that differs from the first perforation pattern by being shifted. 
     
     
         20 . The perforation pattern of  claim 17 , further comprising a nick.
