Golf club head
Abstract
A golf club head includes a face portion that includes a striking face, a sole portion, and a hosel portion. The striking face is divided into a central region, a toe region located on a toe side of the central region, and a heel region located on a heel side of the central region. The central region includes first processed surfaces formed by a first surface texturing. The toe region and the heel region each include the first processed surfaces formed by the first surface texturing, second processed surfaces formed by a second surface texturing, and overlapping processed surfaces formed by the first surface texturing and the second surface texturing overlapping each other. The first processed surfaces are covered by a coating layer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A golf club head comprising a face portion that includes a striking face, a sole portion, and a hosel portion, wherein
the striking face is divided into a central region, a toe region located on a toe side of the central region, and a heel region located on a heel side of the central region, the central region includes first processed surfaces formed by a first surface texturing, the toe region and the heel region each include the first processed surfaces formed by the first surface texturing, second processed surfaces formed by a second surface texturing, and overlapping processed surfaces formed by the first surface texturing and the second surface texturing overlapping each other, and the first processed surfaces are covered by a coating layer.
2 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein the second processed surfaces and the overlapping processed surfaces are exposed without being covered by the coating layer.
3 . A golf club head comprising a face portion that includes a striking face, a sole portion, and a hosel portion, wherein
the striking face is divided into a central region, a toe region located on a toe side of the central region, and a heel region located on a heel side of the central region, a first surface texturing is applied to the central region, the toe region, and the heel region, in addition to the first surface texturing, a second surface texturing is applied to the toe region and the heel region, excluding the central region, and a coating processing is applied to an entirety of the striking face.
4 . The golf club head according to claim 3 , wherein
the coating processing is applied after the first surface texturing, the second surface texturing is applied after the coating processing, a coating layer formed by the coating processing is removed by the second surface texturing, and the coating layer remains present on portions to which the second surface texturing is not applied.
5 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
all virtual circles that have a diameter of 20 mm with their centers located in the toe region or the heel region, and are entirely contained within the striking face are considered, a circle-contained area M 2 is defined as a total area of the second processed surfaces included in each of the all virtual circles, and a minimum value of the circle-contained area M 2 is greater than or equal to 3.0 mm 2 .
6 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the first surface texturing is performed by a first laser processing, and the second surface texturing is performed by a second laser processing.
7 . The golf club head according claim 1 , wherein
the central region extends from a position located 15 mm away from a face center toward the toe side to a position located 15 mm away from the face center toward the heel side.
8 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
a total area S 2 of portions to which the second surface texturing is applied is greater than or equal to 130 mm 2 and less than or equal to 200 mm 2 .
9 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
a ratio of a total area S 2 of portions to which the second surface texturing is applied to a total area of the toe region and the heel region is greater than or equal to 3%.
10 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the striking face does not include a face groove.
11 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the central region does not include the second processed surfaces, and the central region does not include the overlapping processed surfaces.
12 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
the central region, the toe region, and the heel region each include land surfaces to which neither the first surface texturing nor the second surface texturing is applied.
13 . The golf club head according to claim 12 , wherein
a depth of the overlapping processed surfaces measured from the land surfaces is greater than a depth of the first processed surfaces measured from the land surfaces, and the depth of the overlapping processed surfaces measured from the land surfaces is greater than a depth of the second processed surfaces measured from the land surfaces.
14 . The golf club head according to claim 13 , wherein the striking face does not include a groove that has a depth measured from the land surfaces of greater than or equal to 0.005 inch.
15 . The golf club head according to claim 14 , wherein
the first processed surfaces include a plurality of first fine grooves, the second processed surfaces include a plurality of second fine grooves, the first fine grooves each has a depth of less than or equal to 0.001 inch, and the second fine grooves each has a depth of less than or equal to 0.001 inch.
16 . The golf club head according to claim 2 , wherein
the central region, the toe region, and the heel region each include land surfaces to which neither the first surface texturing nor the second surface texturing is applied, and the land surfaces are covered by the coating layer.
17 . The golf club head according to claim 1 , wherein
a total area of the first processed surfaces on the striking face is defined as area S 1 , and a ratio of the area S 1 to an area of the striking face is greater than or equal to 20% and less than or equal to 50%.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
