Abstract

A cleaner includes a suction motor that generates suction force, a dust separation unit that is disposed under the suction motor and separates dust from air, a handle disposed behind the suction motor, and a battery disposed under the handle and behind the dust separation unit to supply power to the suction motor.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A cleaner comprising:
 a main body;   a suction tube configured to connect to the main body, the suction tube extending along a longitudinal axis;   a suction nozzle configured to connect to the suction tube, the suction nozzle being configured to be placed on a floor to perform cleaning;   a handle that extends from the main body in a direction crossing the longitudinal axis of the suction tube, the handle extending along a handle axis that is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis of the suction tube;   a battery configured to be coupled to the main body; and   a suction motor comprising an impeller configured to generate suction force to thereby suction air through the suction tube,   wherein, in a state in which the cleaner is disposed such that the longitudinal axis is horizontally oriented with respect to the floor and passes through a center of the suction tube:
 the handle is disposed rearward of the suction motor, 
 the suction motor is disposed above the longitudinal axis, and 
 the battery is disposed below the handle. 
   
     
     
         2 . The cleaner of  claim 1 , wherein the handle comprises a stopper positioned above the longitudinal axis of the suction tube. 
     
     
         3 . The cleaner of  claim 1 , wherein the handle axis extends through a portion of the battery. 
     
     
         4 . The cleaner of  claim 1 , wherein the main body comprises:
 a dust separation unit that is in communication with the suction tube and disposed between the handle and the suction tube; and   a dust container configured to store dust introduced through the suction tube.   
     
     
         5 . The cleaner of  claim 4 , wherein, in a state in which the cleaner is positioned such that the suction nozzle is in contact with the floor and the longitudinal axis of the suction tube is inclined relative to the floor, the dust container is positioned at a lower height than the battery and the suction motor. 
     
     
         6 . The cleaner of  claim 4 , wherein, in a state in which the cleaner is disposed such that the longitudinal axis of the suction tube is inclined relative to the floor, the suction motor is positioned opposite to the battery with respect to a vertical line passing through a connection portion between the suction tube and the dust separation unit. 
     
     
         7 . The cleaner of  claim 4 , wherein the dust separation unit comprises one or more cyclone units. 
     
     
         8 . The cleaner of  claim 1 , wherein, in a state in which the cleaner is disposed such that the suction nozzle is in contact with the floor and the longitudinal axis of the suction tube is inclined relative to the floor:
 the suction motor is positioned forward of the longitudinal axis, and   the battery is positioned rearward of the longitudinal axis.   
     
     
         9 . The cleaner of  claim 1 , wherein, in a state in which the cleaner is disposed such that the suction nozzle is in contact with the floor and the longitudinal axis of the suction tube is inclined relative to the floor, the suction motor and the battery are positioned at opposite sides of the handle. 
     
     
         10 . The cleaner of  claim 1 , wherein the main body comprises:
 a discharge cover that defines air exits configured to discharge air that has passed through the suction motor; and   a filter that is disposed at the discharge cover and extends in a circumference direction of the discharge cover.   
     
     
         11 . The cleaner of  claim 10 , wherein, in a state in which the cleaner is disposed such that the suction nozzle is in contact with the floor and the longitudinal axis of the suction tube is inclined relative to the floor:
 the discharge cover is positioned forward of the longitudinal axis, and   the handle is positioned rearward of the longitudinal axis.   
     
     
         12 . The cleaner of  claim 10 , wherein the air exits are configured to discharge the air forward relative to the handle. 
     
     
         13 . The cleaner of  claim 2 , wherein the handle comprises:
 a first extension that extends along the handle axis and configured to be held by a user; and   a second extension that extends from the first extension toward the suction motor.   
     
     
         14 . The cleaner of  claim 13 , wherein the longitudinal axis of the suction tube passes through the first extension of the handle. 
     
     
         15 . The cleaner of  claim 14 , wherein at least a portion of the second extension extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the suction tube. 
     
     
         16 . The cleaner of  claim 13 , wherein the handle has an inclined surface, and
 wherein the cleaner further comprises an operation unit that is disposed at the inclined surface of the handle, the operation unit being disposed at a rear side of the second extension of the handle.   
     
     
         17 . The cleaner of  claim 16 , wherein the operation unit and the stopper are disposed at opposite sides of the handle, and the first extension is disposed between the stopper and the operation unit. 
     
     
         18 . The cleaner of  claim 17 , wherein the stopper protrudes forward from a front side of the first extension of the handle toward the suction tube. 
     
     
         19 . The cleaner of  claim 16 , wherein the operation unit is positioned above the stopper. 
     
     
         20 . The cleaner of  claim 16 , wherein the main body comprises:
 a dust separation unit that is in communication with the suction tube and disposed between the handle and the suction tube; and   a dust container configured to store dust introduced through the suction tube, and   wherein, in a state in which the cleaner is disposed such that the longitudinal axis of the suction tube is inclined with respect to the floor, the suction motor and the operation unit are positioned opposite sides of a vertical line passing through the dust container.
