Portable support including a pillow
Abstract
Systems and methods for a portable support system for supporting a seated individual are disclosed. The portable support system includes an elongated body having an upper end and a lower end, the upper end being larger than the lower end, the upper end having a lateral projection extending in a direction away from the elongated body to form a shoulder engagement lobe that is configured to receive a human shoulder. The portable support system includes a grommet tab portion configured to attach to the elongated body, and the grommet tab portion having an elongated grommet with an elongated grommet opening. The portable support system includes a strap configured to pass through the elongated grommet opening to form a first loop and a second loop. The first loop and the second loop are configured to be secured to a first headrest end and a second headrest end of a headrest.

The portable support system of claim 1 , wherein the grommet tab portion has a first grommet tab side and a second grommet tab side, the second grommet tab side being coupled to the upper end of the elongated body, and the first side having a curve configured to follow a contour of a side of the upper end of the elongated body.
5 . The portable support system of claim 1 , wherein the elongated body is a casing configured to house at least one of an insertable inflatable pillow or an insertable cushioning configured to be inserted into the elongated body, wherein the insertable inflatable pillow is configured to transition from a deflated state to an inflated state.
6 . The portable support system of claim 1 , wherein the elongated body may be configured to compress in response to applying pressure to the elongated body, and wherein the elongated body is configured to decompress in response to a release of applied pressure to the elongated body.
7 . The portable support system of claim 1 , wherein the strap doubles over to form a loop on either side of the elongated grommet opening and passes through the elongated grommet opening to an opposing side of the elongated grommet opening.
8 . The portable support system of claim 1 , wherein the elongated body extends in a first direction and the elongated grommet extends in a direction approximately parallel to the first direction, and the strap extends in a second direction approximately perpendicular to the first direction.
9 . The portable support system of claim 1 , wherein the strap may pass from the second side of the elongated grommet opening to the first side of the elongated grommet opening to form the first loop on the first side of the elongated grommet opening, and wherein the strap forming the second loop on the second side of the elongated grommet opening may pass through the first side of the elongated grommet opening to the second side of the elongated grommet opening to form the second loop on the second side of the elongated grommet opening.
10 . The portable support system of claim 1 , wherein the first headrest end and the second headrest end are configured to be angled away from a back portion of the headrest of the seat.
11 . A portable support device for supporting a seated individual, the portable support system including:
an elongated body having an upper end and a lower end, the upper end being larger than the lower end, the upper end having a lateral projection extending in a direction away from the elongated body to form a shoulder engagement lobe that is configured to receive a human shoulder, the upper end being wider and thicker than the lower end, and the lower end being narrower and thinner than the upper end; and a grommet tab portion configured to attach to the elongated body, the grommet tab portion configured to extend laterally from the upper end of the elongated body, and the grommet tab portion having an elongated grommet with an elongated grommet opening, wherein a strap is configured to pass through the elongated grommet opening, the strap being configured to form a first loop on a first side of the elongated grommet opening, and the strap configured to form a second loop on a second side of the elongated grommet opening, wherein the first loop and the second loop are configured to be secured to a first headrest end and a second headrest end of a headrest of a seat.
12 . The portable support device of claim 11 , wherein the lateral projection between the grommet tab portion and the upper end forms the shoulder engagement lobe at the upper end of the elongated body.
13 . The portable support device of claim 11 , wherein the upper end may taper in width and thickness towards the grommet tab portion.
14 . The portable support device of claim 11 , wherein the grommet tab portion has a first grommet tab side and a second grommet tab side, the second grommet tab side being coupled to the upper end of the elongated body, and the first side having a curve configured to follow a contour of a side of the upper end of the elongated body.
15 . The portable support device of claim 11 , wherein the elongated body is a casing configured to house at least one of an insertable inflatable pillow or an insertable cushioning configured to be inserted into the elongated body, wherein the insertable inflatable pillow is configured to transition from a deflated state to an inflated state.
16 . The portable support device of claim 11 , wherein the elongated body may be configured to compress in response to applying pressure to the elongated body, and wherein the elongated body is configured to decompress in response to a release of applied pressure to the elongated body.
