Abstract

An adhesive device for masking variations in skin appearance and topography is provided. The device may comprise a thin, flexible patch made from a hypoallergenic, skin-friendly polymer that may be at least partially translucent and/or otherwise colored to visually blend with a user's skin. The patch may be textured or porous to mimic natural skin appearance and enhance flexibility and breathability. A hypoallergenic adhesive is applied to one surface of the device to temporarily but securely adhere the patch to areas of textured or otherwise variegated skin, such as acne, discoloration, scarring, pitting, fine lines, enlarged pores, and the like. The patch may define various shapes, sizes, and edge geometries to accommodate different facial zones and contours, and may be worn alone or under cosmetics for a visually seamless finish. The patch may include additional skin-benefiting ingredients such as humectants, soothing agents, and the like to improve skin condition during wear.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An adhesive cosmetic device for application to human skin, the device comprising:
a flexible, skin-friendly polymer patch having an inner surface and an outer surface, the patch being configured to visually blend with a user's skin when applied thereto; a layer of hypoallergenic adhesive disposed on the inner surface of the patch, the adhesive being operative to temporarily and securely adhere the patch to the user's skin; wherein the outer surface of the patch defines a surface texture that resembles natural skin texture; and wherein the patch is sized and configured to mask localized variations in skin topography and flexibly accommodate facial contours while avoiding visibly disrupting the appearance of surrounding skin.

2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch comprises a silicone-based polymer.

3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch is provided in a shape selected from the group consisting of: round, oval, arcuate, strip, tapered, and teardrop.

4 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch is between 5 mm and 100 mm in its longest dimension.

5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the outer surface of the patch defines a surface texture that mimics human skin pores.

6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch includes tapered, feathered, or scalloped edges thinner than a central portion of the patch to visually blend with the surrounding skin.

7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch is less than about 3.5 millimeters thick at a central portion.

8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive is a medical-grade, hypoallergenic adhesive.

9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch is provided with a removable protective backing covering the adhesive prior to use.

10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch is configured to visually conceal textural skin imperfections selected from the group consisting of: acne, scars, tattoos, burns, discoloration, enlarged pores, and wrinkles.

11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch is shaped and contoured to conform to localized anatomical topography.

12 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch is configured to be imperceptible to the naked eye after application of cosmetic products selected from the group consisting of: liquid primer, cream foundation, powder foundation, and concealer.

13 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the patch is configured for multiple uses.

14 . A kit comprising a plurality of adhesive patches, each patch comprising:
a plurality of flexible, skin-friendly polymer patches each having an inner surface and an outer surface, a layer of hypoallergenic adhesive disposed on the inner surface of each patch to temporarily and securely adhere the patch to a textured portion of the user's skin wherein each patch is configured to visually blend with a user's surrounding skin when applied; and wherein at least some of the plurality of patches are provided in different shapes and sizes from one another for targeted application to different facial zones.

15 . The kit of claim 14 , wherein at least the patches have tapered, feathered, or scalloped edges that are thinner than a central portion of the patch to visually blend with surrounding skin.

16 . The kit of claim 14 , wherein at least some of the patch outer surfaces define surface texturing to mimic natural skin.

17 . The kit of claim 14 , wherein at least some of the plurality of patches define surface pores to enhance flexibility and breathability.

18 . The kit of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of patches are provided in multiple skin-tone-matching colors to optimize visually blending with surrounding skin without makeup.

19 . The kit of claim 14 , wherein some of the plurality of patches are at least partially translucent.

20 . The kit of claim 14 , further comprising one or more accessory products selected from the group consisting of an adhesive, an edge blender, a primer, a finishing spray or sealer, a skin-prep solution, a removal solution, a storage accessory, and a cleaning accessory.
