Abstract
A baggage sleeve packing system is disclosed, including a support structure and a plurality of sleeves. The support structure includes an articulated spine and at least one sleeve guide disposed on or in the articulated spine. The articulated spine includes a first support section attached adjacent to a second support section via a flexion region along a length of the articulated spine. Each of the plurality of sleeves includes at least one storage compartment and a binding edge along a length of the sleeve, the binding edge includes at least one fastener reversibly attachable to the at least one sleeve guide. At least one of the plurality of sleeves is transferable from adjacent to the first support section to adjacent to the second support section of the articulated spine while remaining attached to the support structure via the at least one fastener and the at least one sleeve guide.

1 . A baggage sleeve packing system, comprising:
a support structure, including:
an articulated spine including a first support section attached adjacent to a second support section via a flexion region along a length of the articulated spine; and
at least one sleeve guide disposed on or in the articulated spine; and
a plurality of sleeves, each of the plurality of sleeves including:
at least one storage compartment; and
a binding edge along a length of the sleeve, the binding edge comprising at least one fastener reversibly attachable to the at least one sleeve guide,
wherein, while remaining attached to the support structure via the at least one fastener and the at least one sleeve guide, at least one of the plurality of sleeves is transferable from being disposed adjacent to the first support section of the articulated spine to being disposed adjacent to the second support section of the articulated spine.
2 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sleeve guide includes a plurality of sleeve guides arranged along the length of the articulated spine.
3 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of sleeves further includes a forward face and a rearward face, at least one of the forward face or the rearward face including the at least one storage compartment.
4 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one fastener is equal in number to the at least one sleeve guide.
5 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one storage compartment is reversibly attachable to at least one of the plurality of sleeves.
6 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one storage compartment is integrally formed in at least one of the plurality of sleeves.

The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sleeve guide includes a vertical tether disposed along the length of the articulated spine and two of the plurality of sleeves are attached to one another along the binding edge of each to form a folding joint as the at least one fastener of each with the folding joint being disposed between the articulated spine and the vertical tether.
8 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the baggage sleeve packing system is configured for being disposed in a piece of baggage such that the flexion region is positioned over a sidewall of the baggage.
9 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 8 , wherein the baggage sleeve packing system includes a baggage fastener positioned for securing the baggage sleeve packing system to the baggage, the baggage fastener selected from the group consisting of snap fasteners, clip fasteners, zipper fasteners, hook and loop fasteners, magnetic fasteners, and combinations thereof.

The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one sleeve guide includes at least one tether attached at a first end of the tether to the first support section of the articulated spine and at a second end of the tether to the second support section of the articulated spine such that the at least one tether extends over at least a portion of the first support section, across the flexion region, and over at least a portion of the second support section, and the at least one of the plurality of sleeves is transferable from the first support section of the articulated spine to the second support section of the articulated spine by sliding along the at least one tether.

The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 10 , wherein the first end of the tether is reversibly attached to the first support section of the articulated spine or the second end of the tether is reversibly attached to the second support section of the articulated spine, or the first end of the tether is reversibly attached to the first support section of the articulated spine and the second end of the tether is reversibly attached to the second support section of the articulated spine.
12 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one tether is selected from the group consisting of a strap, a cable, a cord, a wire, a ring, a track, and combinations thereof.
13 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one tether includes a plurality of tethers spaced out from one another along the length of the articulated spine.
14 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 10 , wherein the at least one fastener includes a plurality of loop fasteners, each of the plurality of loop fasteners permanently attached to the sleeve at a first end of the loop fastener and reversibly attached to the sleeve at a second end of the loop fastener.
15 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the articulated spine includes a plurality of segments disposed between the first support section and the second support section, the plurality of segments being interconnected in series via a plurality of expandible flexion regions such that members of the plurality of segments in an unexpanded state are part of the first support section and members of the plurality of segments in an expanded state are part of the second support section, the at least one tether including a plurality of tethers each disposed on one of the plurality of segments.
16 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein at least one fastener reversibly attachable to the at least one sleeve guide is selected from the group consisting of at least one snap fastener, at least one clip fastener, at least one zipper fastener, at least one hook and loop fastener, at least one magnetic fastener, and combinations thereof.
17 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first support section of the articulated spine or the second support section of the articulated spine is rigid.
18 . The baggage sleeve packing system of claim 1 , wherein the first support section of the articulated spine includes a first enclosing perimeter wall and the second support section of the articulated spine includes a second enclosing perimeter wall, the first enclosing perimeter wall and the second enclosing perimeter wall cooperating to form an enclosure with the articulated spine in a closed configuration with the plurality of sleeves disposed within the enclosure.
19 . A baggage sleeve packing system, comprising:
a support structure, including:
an articulated spine including a first support section attached adjacent to a second support section via a flexion region along a length of the articulated spine; and
a plurality of sleeve guides disposed on or in the articulated spine and spaced out from one another along the length of the articulated spine; and
a plurality of sleeves, each of the plurality of sleeves including:
at least one storage compartment; and
a binding edge along a length of the sleeve, the binding edge comprising a plurality of fasteners reversibly attachable to the plurality of sleeve guides,
wherein:
while remaining attached to the support structure via the plurality of fasteners and the plurality of sleeve guides, at least one of the plurality of sleeves is transferable from being disposed adjacent to the first support section of the articulated spine to being disposed adjacent to the second support section of the articulated spine;
the baggage sleeve packing system is configured for being disposed in a piece of baggage such that the flexion region is positioned over a sidewall of the baggage;
the plurality of sleeve guides includes a plurality of tethers attached at a first end of each of the plurality of tethers to the first support section of the articulated spine and at a second end of each of the plurality of tethers to the second support section of the articulated spine such that each of the plurality of tethers extends over at least a portion of the first support section, across the flexion region, and over at least a portion of the second support section, and the at least one of the plurality of sleeves is transferable from the first support section of the articulated spine to the second support section of the articulated spine by sliding along the plurality of tethers; and
the plurality of tethers are selected from the group consisting of straps, cables, cords, wires, rings, tracks, and combinations thereof.
20 . A baggage sleeve packing system, comprising:
a support structure, including:
an articulated spine including a first support section attached adjacent to a second support section via a flexion region along a length of the articulated spine; and
a plurality of sleeve guides disposed on or in the articulated spine and spaced out from one another along the length of the articulated spine; and
a plurality of sleeves, each of the plurality of sleeves including:
at least one storage compartment; and
a binding edge along a length of the sleeve, the binding edge comprising a plurality of fasteners reversibly attachable to the plurality of sleeve guides,
wherein:
while remaining attached to the support structure via the plurality of fasteners and the plurality of sleeve guides, at least one of the plurality of sleeves is transferable from being disposed adjacent to the first support section of the articulated spine to being disposed adjacent to the second support section of the articulated spine;
the baggage sleeve packing system is configured for being disposed in a piece of baggage such that the flexion region is positioned over a sidewall of the baggage;
the plurality of sleeve guides includes a plurality of tethers attached at a first end of each of the plurality of tethers to the first support section of the articulated spine and at a second end of each of the plurality of tethers to the second support section of the articulated spine such that each of the plurality of tethers extends over at least a portion of the first support section, across the flexion region, and over at least a portion of the second support section, and the at least one of the plurality of sleeves is transferable from the first support section of the articulated spine to the second support section of the articulated spine by sliding along the plurality of tethers; and
