Apparatus for secure wig attachment

Abstract

The present disclosure provides a wig securement band comprising a head band having an inner surface and an outer surface. The head band includes an interface region and an adjustable segment secured to the interface region. One or more hook and loop hair grippers comprised of a plurality of hooks are disposed on the inner surface of the head band. A friction band for securing a wig to the head band is disposed on the outer surface of the headband and traverses a length of the interface region. A mesh panel is integrated within the interface region of the headband. The wig securement band provides a secure and adjustable means for attaching wigs while maintaining comfort and a natural appearance.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A wig securement band comprising:
 a head band having an inner surface and an outer surface, the head band including:
 an interface region, and 
 an adjustable segment secured to the interface region; 
   one or more hook and loop hair grippers comprised of a plurality of hooks disposed on the inner surface of the head band;   a friction band for securing a wig to the head band, disposed on the outer surface of the head band, and traversing a length of the interface region; and   a mesh panel integrated within the interface region of the head band.   
     
     
         2 . The wig securement band of  claim 1 , wherein the mesh panel is comprised of:
 a body,   a first arm, and   a second arm,
 the body, the first arm, and the second arm forming a T-shape. 
   
     
     
         3 . The wig securement band of  claim 2 , wherein the one or more book and loop hair grippers comprise:
 a first hook and loop hair gripper disposed on the inner surface of the head band, and   a second hook and loop hair gripper disposed on the inner surface of the head band,
 the body of the mesh panel extending between the first hook and loop hair gripper and the second hook and loop hair gripper to define a midline of the wig securement band. 
   
     
     
         4 . The wig securement band of  claim 3 , wherein the first arm and the second arm are positioned anterior to the first hook and loop hair gripper and the second hook and loop hair gripper respectively. 
     
     
         5 . The wig securement band of  claim 4 , wherein the first arm and the second arm extend along at most 80% of a length of the first hook and loop hair gripper and the second hook and loop hair gripper respectively. 
     
     
         6 . The wig securement band of  claim 1 , wherein the friction band is comprised of silicone. 
     
     
         7 . The wig securement band of  claim 1 , wherein the mesh panel is constructed from a fine, lightweight material configured to match a wearer's skin tone. 
     
     
         8 . The wig securement band of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 an adjustment tensioner permitting a length of the adjustable segment to be adjusted to accommodate a wearer's head size and shape.   
     
     
         9 . The wig securement band of  claim 3 , wherein the one or more hook and loop hair grippers are further comprised of:
 a third hook and loop hair gripper, and   a fourth hook and loop hair gripper,
 the third hook and loop hair gripper and the fourth hook and loop hair gripper disposed on the inner surface of the head band and positioned at a back portion of the wig securement band. 
   
     
     
         10 . A wig securement band comprising:
 a head band having an inner surface and an outer surface, the head band including:
 an interface region, 
 an adjustable segment secured to the interface region, and 
 an adjustment tensioner permitting a length of the adjustable segment to be adjusted to accommodate a wearer's head size and shape; 
   one or more hook and loop hair grippers including:
 a first hook and loop hair gripper disposed on the inner surface of the head band, 
 a second hook and loop hair gripper disposed on the inner surface of the head band; 
   a mesh panel integrated within the interface region of the head band, the mesh panel including:
 a body, 
 a first arm, and 
 a second arm,
 the body extending between the first hook and loop hair gripper and the second hook and loop hair gripper to define a midline of the wig securement band; and 
 
 a friction band for securing a wig to the head band, disposed on the outer surface of the head band, and traversing a length of the interface region. 
   
     
     
         11 . The wig securement band of  claim 10 , wherein the first arm and the second arm are positioned anterior to the first hook and loop hair gripper and the second hook and loop hair gripper respectively. 
     
     
         12 . The wig securement band of  claim 10 , wherein the friction band is comprised of silicone. 
     
     
         13 . The wig securement band of  claim 10 , wherein the mesh panel is constructed from a fine, lightweight material configured to match a wearer's skin tone. 
     
     
         14 . The wig securement band of  claim 10 , wherein the one or more hook and loop hair grippers are further comprised of:
 a third hook and loop hair gripper, and   a fourth hook and loop hair gripper,
 the third hook and loop hair gripper and the fourth hook and loop hair gripper disposed on the inner surface of the head band and positioned at a back portion of the wig securement band. 
   
     
     
         15 . The wig securement band of  claim 10 , wherein the first arm and the second arm extend along at most 80% of a length of the first hook and loop hair gripper and the second hook and loop hair gripper respectively. 
     
     
         16 . A wig securement band comprising:
 a head band having an inner surface and an outer surface, the head band including:
 an interface region, and 
 an adjustable segment secured to the interface region; 
   one or more hook and loop hair grippers including:
 a first hook and loop hair gripper disposed on the inner surface of the head band, 
 a second hook and loop hair gripper disposed on the inner surface of the head band; 
   a mesh panel integrated within the interface region of the head band, the mesh panel constructed from a fine, lightweight material configured to match a wearer's skin tone; and   a friction band for securing a wig to the head band, disposed on the outer surface of the head band, and traversing a length of the interface region.   
     
     
         17 . The wig securement band of  claim 16 , further comprising:
 an adjustment tensioner permitting a length of the adjustable segment to be adjusted to accommodate the wearer's head size and shape.   
     
     
         18 . The wig securement band of  claim 16 , wherein the mesh panel is comprised of:
 a body,   a first arm, and   a second arm,
 the body extending between the first hook and loop hair gripper and the second hook and loop hair gripper to define a midline of the wig securement band. 
   
     
     
         19 . The wig securement band of  claim 18 , wherein the first arm and the second arm extend along at most 80% of a length of the first hook and loop hair gripper and the second hook and loop hair gripper respectively. 
     
     
         20 . The wig securement band of  claim 16 , wherein the friction band is comprised of silicone.
