Athletic training aid

Abstract

A training aid comprises a plurality of elongate bodies. Each of the elongate bodies comprises a first end and a second end. A holder is coupled to the first end, and includes a clip extending along each of the elongate bodies and forming an accommodating space. The accommodating space is oriented to accommodate an object to be inserted along each of the elongate bodies in a direction pointing the first end to the second end. Each of the elongate bodies is bendable to a deformed state and is fixable in the deformed state.

         21 . A training aid comprising:
 an elongate body including a first end and a second end, the second end forming a terminal portion of the elongate body; and   a holder coupled to the first end, the holder including a clip extending along the elongate body and forming an accommodating space, the accommodating space oriented to accommodate an object to be inserted along the elongate body in a direction pointing from the first end to the second end,   wherein the elongate body is bendable to a deformed state by moving the second end and is fixable in the deformed state,   wherein an outer surface of the elongate body is entirely covered except at the first end with material that is non-reflective and non-light-emitting, and   wherein the elongate body is configured to be placed within a user's field of vision to thereby enclose a part of a user's field of vision.   
     
     
         22 . The training aid of  claim 21 , wherein the clip includes a U-shaped section formed to extend along the elongate body and wherein an object is inserted into the accommodating space through a gap of the U-shaped section. 
     
     
         23 . The training aid of  claim 22 , wherein the U-shaped section includes a stationary member extending along the elongate body and a biasing member configured to push an object in the accommodating space against the stationary member. 
     
     
         24 . The training aid of  claim 21 , wherein the elongate body is made of gooseneck tubing. 
     
     
         25 . The training aid of  claim 21 , wherein the holder includes a ring section configured to couple the holder to the first end of the elongate body. 
     
     
         26 . The training aid of  claim 21 , wherein an opacity of the material is between 0 and 70 gloss units (GU).

         28 . A training aid comprising:
 a plurality of elongate bodies, each of the elongate bodies comprising:   a first end and a second end, the second end forming a terminal portion of each of the elongate bodies; and   a holder coupled to the first end, the holder including a clip extending along each of the elongate bodies and forming an accommodating space, the accommodating space oriented to accommodate an object to be inserted along each of the elongate bodies in a direction pointing the first end to the second end,   wherein each of the elongate bodies is bendable to a deformed state by moving the second end and is fixable in the deformed state,   wherein each of the elongate bodies is freely movable relative to one another,   wherein an outer surface of the elongate bodies is entirely covered except at the first end with material that is non-reflective and non-light emitting, and   wherein the elongate bodies are configured to be placed within a user's field of vision to thereby enclose a part of a user's field of vision.   
     
     
         29 . The training aid of  claim 28 , wherein the clip includes a U-shaped section formed to extend along each of the elongate bodies and wherein an object is inserted into the accommodating space through a gap of the U-shaped section. 
     
     
         30 . The training aid of  claim 29 , wherein the U-shaped section includes a stationary member extending along each of the elongate bodies and a biasing member configured to push an object in the accommodating space against the stationary member. 
     
     
         31 . The training aid of  claim 28 , wherein the plurality of elongate bodies is made of gooseneck. 
     
     
         32 . The training aid of  claim 28 , wherein the holder includes a ring section to couple the holder to the first end of each of the elongate bodies. 
     
     
         33 . A method of training, the method comprising:
 providing a training aid comprising a pair of elongate bodies, each of the elongate bodies comprising a first end and a second end, the second end forming a terminal portion of each of the elongate bodies, each of the elongate bodies being freely movable relative to one another, and a holder coupled to the first end, the holder including a clip extending along the elongate body and forming an accommodating space, the accommodating space oriented to accommodate an object to be inserted along the elongate body in a direction pointing the first end to the second end, the elongate body being bendable to a deformed state by moving the second end and fixable in the deformed state, an outer surface of the elongate body being entirely covered except at the first end with material that is non-reflective and non-light-emitting;   attaching the training aid to a headgear by inserting a part of the headgear into the accommodating space such that the elongate bodies are within a user's field of vision; and   deforming the pair of elongate bodies to enclose a part of a user's field of vision.   
     
     
         34 . The training aid of  claim 33 , wherein the clip includes a U-shaped section configured to extend along the pair of elongate bodies and wherein an object is inserted into the accommodating space through a gap of the U-shaped section. 
     
     
         35 . The training aid of  claim 34 , wherein the U-shaped section includes a stationary member extending along the pair of elongate bodies and a biasing member configured to push an object in the accommodating space against the stationary member. 
     
     
         36 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein the pair of elongate bodies is made of gooseneck. 
     
     
         37 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein the holder includes a ring section to couple the holder to the first end of the pair of elongate bodies.
