Inflatable Seat Cushion Device
Abstract
An inflatable seat cushion device is provided. The device is designed to enhance ergonomic seating by replicating the dynamic benefits of an exercise ball while ensuring stability for prolonged office use. The device comprises a base that secures an inflatable cushion in place. A hinged lid with a locking mechanism encloses the cushion and features a dome-shaped inflatable member. A fabric cover encases the cushion, offering a breathable, stretchable surface with a non-slip exterior for added stability. The cushion's inflation level is adjustable via an accessible valve, allowing users to customize firmness and height. When inflated, the cushion has a dome shape that facilitates micro-movements, engaging core muscles and promoting improved posture. The device is used by positioning the base on a chair, securing the cushion assembly within the base, inflating the cushion through the valve, and allowing the user to experience active sitting benefits.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An inflatable seat cushion device comprising:
a base comprised of a bottom surface comprising a non-slip texture; an inflatable cushion assembly comprised of an inflatable member and a fabric cover; a lid comprising an opening, wherein the inflatable member extends through the opening when inflated; and an inflation valve configured to allow inflation and deflation of the inflatable member.
2 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 1 , wherein the inflatable member is dome-shaped.
3 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 1 , wherein the fabric cover is comprised of an exterior surface comprised of a non-slip texture.
4 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 1 , wherein the inflation valve is comprised of a one-way sealing mechanism.
5 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 1 , wherein the base comprises a handle.
6 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 1 , wherein the lid attaches to the base via a hinge.
7 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 1 further comprised of a locking member that secures the lid to the base.
8 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 1 , wherein the inflatable member is comprised of a first flange.
9 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 1 , wherein the fabric cover is comprised of a second flange.
10 . An inflatable seat cushion device comprising:
a base comprised of a bottom surface comprising a non-slip texture and a fastener; an inflatable cushion assembly comprised of an inflatable member and a fabric cover; a lid comprising an opening, wherein the inflatable member extends through the opening when inflated; and an inflation valve configured to allow inflation and deflation of the inflatable member.
11 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 10 further comprised of a locking member that secures the lid to the base.
12 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 11 , wherein the locking member is a clip, a clasp, a latch, or a magnetic fastener.
13 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 10 , wherein the base is comprised of a valve opening that allows the inflation valve to be accessed.
14 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 10 , wherein the base comprises a handle.
15 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 10 , wherein the inflatable member is comprised of a first flange.
16 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 10 , wherein the fabric cover is comprised of a second flange.
17 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 10 , wherein the inflatable member is dome-shaped.
18 . The inflatable seat cushion device of claim 10 , wherein the fabric cover is comprised of an exterior surface comprised of a non-slip texture.
19 . A method of using an inflatable seat cushion device, the method comprising the following steps:
providing an inflatable seat cushion device comprised of comprising a base, an inflatable cushion assembly, a lid, and an inflation valve; positioning the base onto a chair seat such that a bottom surface of the base engages the chair seat; securing the base to the chair seat using a fastener; inserting the inflatable cushion assembly into the base such that a first flange of the inflatable cushion assembly is positioned within the base; placing a fabric cover over the inflatable member such that a second flange of the fabric cover is aligned atop the first flange of the inflatable cushion assembly; closing and securing the lid to the base via a locking mechanism, thereby securing the inflatable cushion assembly within the base; inflating the inflatable member via the inflation valve, wherein the inflatable member extends through an opening in the lid when inflated; and sitting on the inflatable member, wherein the inflatable member facilitates micro-movements, promoting active sitting, core engagement, and improved posture.
20 . The method of using an inflatable seat cushion device of claim 19 further comprising a step of adjusting an inflation level of the inflatable member to achieve a desired height and a desired firmness.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
