Abstract

Provided is a dispensing assembly for dispensing a material. The dispensing assembly includes a container defining a cavity, a receptacle configured to be disposed in the cavity, and a cap configured to be coupled to the container and the receptacle. The cap includes a dispensing stem configured to dispense the material from the receptacle in the container, a first one-way valve configured to prevent the material from being dispensed though the dispensing stem in the absence of a force being applied to the container, and a second one-way valve configured to prevent air from entering the cavity in the container when the force is applied.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A dispensing assembly for dispensing a material, the dispensing assembly comprising:
 a container defining a cavity; and   a cap configured to be coupled to the container, the cap including a dispensing stem configured to dispense the material from a receptacle disposed in the container, a first one-way valve configured to prevent the material from being dispensed though the dispensing stem in the absence of a force being applied to the container, and a second one-way valve configured to prevent air from entering the cavity in the container when the force is applied.   
     
     
         2 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein the dispensing stem includes a dispensing opening, and wherein the first one-way valve includes an elastomeric member surrounding the dispensing stem and covering the opening. 
     
     
         3 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 1 , the cap additionally includes an inlet stem having an inlet opening and an outlet opening, and wherein the second one-way valve includes an elastomeric member surrounding the inlet stem and covering the outlet opening. 
     
     
         4 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 3 , wherein when a force is applied to the container, the force urges the first elastomeric member away from the dispensing stem around the dispensing opening to dispense the material and the second elastomeric member prevents air from entering the cavity in the container. 
     
     
         5 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 4 , wherein when the force is removed from the container, the first elastomeric member abuts the dispersing opening preventing air from entering the receptacle and air moves the second elastomeric member away from the inlet stem to enter the cavity in the container around the receptacle. 
     
     
         6 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 1 , wherein the cap includes a base, a wall circumscribing the base, the dispensing stem extending downward from the base, a rim extending upward from the base, a collar radially outward spaced from the rim and extending upward from the base for coupling to the receptacle, and an inlet stem extending upward from the base. 
     
     
         7 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 6 , wherein the rim is in communication with the dispensing stem and configured to puncture a seal on the receptacle. 
     
     
         8 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 6 , further including a plurality of legs extending downward form the base for supporting the dispensing assembly on a surface with the dispensing stem facing the surface. 
     
     
         9 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 6 , wherein the dispensing stem includes a dispensing opening in communication with a cavity of the receptacle, and the inlet stem includes an inlet opening and an outlet opening in communication with the cavity in the container when the second one-way valve is open. 
     
     
         10 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 9 , wherein the first one-way valve includes a first elastomeric member surrounding the dispensing stem and covering the dispensing opening, and the second one-way valve includes a second elastomeric member surrounding the inlet stem and covering the outlet opening. 
     
     
         11 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 10 , further comprising a sleeve coupled to the dispensing stem surrounding the first elastomeric member. 
     
     
         12 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 11 , wherein the sleeve includes a slot positioned in an area of the dispensing stem around the dispensing opening to direct material exiting the dispensing opening. 
     
     
         13 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 1 , further comprising the receptacle configured to be coupled to the cap and disposed in the cavity in the container. 
     
     
         14 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 13 , wherein the receptacle includes a pouch for holding material, a neck extending from the pouch and configured to be coupled to the cap, and a seal on the neck configured to be punctured when the neck is coupled to the cap. 
     
     
         15 . A dispensing assembly for dispensing a material, the dispensing assembly comprising:
 a container defining a cavity;   a receptacle configured to be disposed in the cavity; and   a cap configured to be coupled to the container and the receptacle, the cap including a dispensing stem configured to dispense the material from the receptacle, a first one-way valve configured to prevent the material from being dispensed though the dispensing stem in the absence of a force being applied to the container, and a second one-way valve configured to prevent air from entering the cavity in the container when the force is applied.   
     
     
         16 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 15 , wherein the cap includes a base, a wall circumscribing the base, the dispensing stem extending downward from the base, a rim extending upward from the base in communication with the dispensing stem, a collar radially outward spaced from the rim and extending upward from the base for coupling to the receptacle, and an inlet stem extending upward from the base. 
     
     
         17 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 16 , wherein the rim includes an angled surface configured to puncture a seal on the receptacle when the receptacle is coupled to the cap. 
     
     
         18 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 16 , wherein the dispensing stem includes a dispensing opening in communication with a cavity of the receptacle, and the inlet stem includes an inlet opening and an outlet opening in communication with the cavity in the container when the second one-way valve is open. 
     
     
         19 . The dispensing assembly according to  claim 18 , wherein the first one-way valve includes a first elastomeric member surrounding the dispensing stem and covering the dispensing opening, and the second one-way valve includes a second elastomeric member surrounding the inlet stem and covering the outlet opening. 
     
     
         20 . A dispensing assembly for dispensing a material, the dispensing assembly comprising:
 a container defining a cavity; and   a cap configured to be coupled to the container, the cap including a base, a wall circumscribing the base, a dispensing stem extending downward from the base and having a dispensing opening configured to dispense the material from a receptacle disposed in the container, a rim extending upward from the base in communication with the dispensing stem, a collar radially outward spaced from the rim and extending upward from the base for coupling to the receptacle, an inlet stem extending upward from the base and having an outlet opening, a first elastomeric member surrounding the dispensing stem and covering the dispensing opening, and a second elastomeric member surrounding the inlet stem and covering the outlet opening.
