Abstract
A metal powder forming method is a metal powder forming method for forming metal powder by cutting a surface of a metal workpiece, including a rolling step for forming a second surface having a plurality of protrusions aligned at least in one direction on a first surface of the workpiece with a plastic forming tool, and a cutting step for forming the metal powder by cutting the plurality of protrusions with a cutting tool.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A metal powder forming method for forming metal powder by cutting a surface of a metal workpiece, the metal powder forming method comprising:
a rolling step for forming a second surface having a plurality of protrusions on a first surface of the workpiece with a rolling tool, and a cutting step for forming metal powder by cutting the plurality of the protrusions with a cutting tool, wherein:
the first surface of the workpiece has an axisymmetric shape around a first axis,
the cutting step is performed while the rolling step is performed and while the workpiece is rotated around the first axis, and
in the rolling step, the rolling tool is pressed against the first surface of the workpiece rotating around the first axis to form, on the first surface, a plurality of first grooves extending in one direction, a plurality of second grooves extending in a direction intersecting the plurality of first grooves, and the plurality of the protrusions arranged in directions in which the plurality of first grooves and the plurality of second grooves each extend.
2 . The metal powder forming method according to claim 1 ,
the rolling tool is a roller type tool having a plurality of recesses formed on an outer circumferential surface corresponding to the plurality of the protrusions.
3 . The metal powder forming method according to claim 1 , wherein
the rolling tool comprises a first rolling tool and a second rolling tool, the plurality of first grooves is formed by the first rolling tool, and the plurality of second grooves is formed by the second rolling tool.
4 . The metal powder forming method according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a second rolling step performed to further form the plurality of protrusions on a third surface of the workpiece after the plurality of protrusions rolled in the rolling step are cut in the cutting step, and a second cutting step performed to form the metal powder by cutting the plurality of protrusions formed in the second rolling step with the cutting tool.
