3 . The removable handle subassembly of claim 1 , wherein the release buttons are configured to engage with recesses formed in the center bar.
4 . The removable handle subassembly of claim 1 , wherein the release buttons are flush with an outer surface of the handle body when fully engaged.
5 . The removable handle subassembly of claim 1 , wherein the biasing member is positioned within the handle body.
6 . A handle assembly for a fitness bar comprising a center bar and a fabric sheet, the handle assembly comprising:
a handle body having an insertion portion; a pair of release buttons disposed on the insertion portion; a leaf spring configured to bias the release buttons outward into engagement with corresponding recesses of the center bar; and a spring mechanism disposed within an end portion of the center bar, the spring mechanism comprising a pair of posts extending through a first plate and coupled to a second plate, with coil springs concentrically positioned around the posts and captured between the plates, wherein the spring mechanism is configured to urge the handle body outward from the center bar when the release buttons are disengaged.
7 . The handle assembly of claim 6 , wherein the insertion portion includes a keyed interface for orientation control.
8 . The handle assembly of claim 6 , wherein the leaf spring is seated between interior shoulders of the handle body and inner faces of the release buttons.
9 . The handle assembly of claim 6 , wherein the release buttons provide tactile feedback upon engagement.
10 . The handle assembly of claim 6 , wherein the handle body includes a flat surface configured to interface with a corresponding flat surface of the center bar.
11 . A modular handle system for use with a fitness bar comprising a center bar and a fabric sheet, the modular handle system comprising:
a handle body; a pair of radially translating release buttons; a spring mechanism configured to simultaneously bias both release buttons outward; and an end cap configured to couple to a distal portion of the handle body.
12 . The modular handle system of claim 11 , wherein the spring mechanism comprises a leaf spring.
13 . The modular handle system of claim 11 , wherein the release buttons are configured to be cammed inward during insertion into the center bar.
14 . The modular handle system of claim 11 , wherein the handle body is formed from a polymer with an overmolded grip portion.
15 . The modular handle system of claim 11 , wherein the release buttons are precision-molded from acetal or metal alloy.
16 . The modular handle system of claim 11 , wherein the spring mechanism is configured to provide audible feedback upon engagement.
17 . The modular handle system of claim 11 , wherein the handle body is configured to eliminate perceptible play when coupled to the center bar.
